17:35 Ven masak: (OT) http://this-plt-life.tumblr.com/post/43655942984/when-im-working-on-a-macro-system-with-phase
17:35 Ven also, http://this-plt-life.tumblr.com/post/43238102123/when-im-working-on-a-hygienic-macro-system
17:39 Ven ( I guess this works as well ... http://this-plt-life.tumblr.com/post/36425230743/when-i-read-about-perl-6-semantics )
18:42 masak ooh
18:42 * masak checks those out
18:43 masak oh, I think I've seen that site before.
18:53 masak agree fully with the first one. no real  connection with the second one. the third one I've seen before, and it feels a bit mean. but that's OK -- there will always be people who are out of the loop.
19:07 vendethiel- this blog is full of jokes, so I'll take all of them as light-hearted jokes :-)
19:07 vendethiel- I can understand why a lisper would go "wut" on perl6's feature list
19:35 masak *nod*
19:36 masak Lisp people's smugness is fascinating much of the time, worth keeping in mind as a goal/inspiration all of the time, and tiresome some of the time.
19:36 vendethiel- I actually never experienced that
19:36 vendethiel- sure, I've seen it in reddit and hn and reading old mailing lists threads
19:37 vendethiel- but talking in #lisp and all that, never
19:37 vendethiel- (#lisp, #racket... Actually, #clojure really was the worst experience of all these
19:37 vendethiel- I've heard several people say "clojurers don't think new clojurers are a good asset to have")
19:39 vendethiel- I'm in a bit of the opposite camp "right now", though, because I'm writing a VM in C...
19:42 masak oh, you are? neat.
19:43 vendethiel- not neat at all...
19:47 masak :)
19:48 vendethiel- (it's a school project. I hate C, I hate their dumb bytecode format, and everything else)
20:06 * masak hugs vendethiel-
20:06 masak you seem understimulated in your current position.
20:06 masak I wish I could help, without also depriving you of a diploma :)
20:06 vendethiel- considering how tired I am, "wrongly-stimulated" would maybe be a better term
20:07 * vendethiel- hugs back -- it's friday, even!
20:09 vendethiel- f# is interesting, I picked a few interesting concept reading some f# book (~400pages)
20:10 masak which book?
20:11 * vendethiel- checks his dropbox
20:12 vendethiel- I read a fair bit of "Programming f# 3.0" (100 pages or more? can't remember.)
20:14 vendethiel- actually, I probably read that book completly, as i can't find any other one
20:16 masak oki
20:17 vendethiel- it explained that part pretty late
20:18 vendethiel- there's also quoting and things like that
20:18 masak http://www.amazon.com/Programming-F-3-0-Chris-Smith/dp/1449320295/
20:18 vendethiel- definitely looks like my ebook
20:22 masak added to wish list.
20:23 vendethiel- I'm not saying it'll be a very interesting read, though
20:23 masak got it.
20:23 vendethiel- I read that while commuting, so I don't remember the structure of the book itself
