09:45 edrin hi
10:14 egonw hi edrin
10:14 egonw live from Kiruna?
10:14 edrin yep :)
10:15 egonw cool...
10:15 edrin actually I think this city would not exist if there isn't this huge mine here..
10:15 egonw :)
10:16 egonw noticed that on google map
10:16 egonw what kind of mine is it?
10:16 egonw it's an open mine, not?
10:16 edrin Ferrum i think
10:16 edrin we visited it yesterday
10:16 edrin this was really cool
10:18 edrin our group went there with a huge bus... that entered the mine through a gate and brought us 500 meters under ground - on some kind of normal street. we met several busses and trucks on the way down there.
10:18 egonw :)
10:18 egonw yeah, mines can be huge
10:19 egonw we always thinks that the mines in Mora are just fantasy
10:19 egonw but mines *are* huge
10:19 * egonw enjoyes mines very much
10:19 edrin and the actual work happens 1000 m below ground
10:19 edrin 18.000 individuals live in Kiruna
10:20 egonw that's quite a lot
10:21 edrin Uppsala has 128000 wikipedia says
10:23 edrin The miners said they have to disassemble the whole city and move it since the mine destabilizes the ground :)
10:24 edrin so better to not buy a house here ;)
10:24 egonw :)

12:21 egonw hi zarah!
12:21 zarah egonw: You have new messages. Write '/msg zarah @messages' to read them.
12:21 egonw @msg
12:21 zarah egonw: 1 d 12 h 57 m 14 s ago, samuell said Read it now. Interesting read. There's much empty philosophy out there. Being confronted with reality is healthy.
12:21 masak +1
13:06 edrin left #bioclipse
13:27 egonw masak: understood and agreed
13:27 egonw the kids school had a event to raise awareness of the following
13:27 egonw kids in Africa needing to walk 6km to get water
13:28 egonw and therefore not being able to go to school
13:28 egonw so, the school had the kids for 6km with a bottle of water
13:28 egonw my son was upset, as this was completely useles, and did not help those kids in Africa at all

16:24 egonw hi samuell
16:24 samuell hi egonw
16:29 * samuell has exercised a of bit automatic control ...
16:30 samuell (It's so boring so I have to do it in the day while having excess energy ... ^^ )
16:31 samuell (everything done on a computer is much more fun :) )
16:33 samuell egonw: Have you heard anything regarding inclusion of SPARQL update syntax in Jena?
16:33 egonw nope
16:34 samuell I've been talking to a potential mentor regarding RDF import/export in SMW, and as far as we see, it seems quite possible to enable a full query/write SPARQL API for SMW
16:35 samuell So then rdf.sparqlRemote() would be more or less all that is needed on the Bioclipse side, to have SMW integration ...
16:35 samuell In case there's not problems with SPARQL update syntax, that is.
16:35 samuell (In Jena)
16:36 samuell But maybe it just depends on the remote SPARQL enpoint?
16:36 samuell (Then it will be fine)
16:38 egonw check what API is being used by our rdf plugin right now...
16:38 egonw perhaps it is not using the ARQ route yet
16:41 samuell Ok

20:09 sneumann egonw, thanks for your swift reply to my mail
20:10 egonw np
20:11 egonw substructure search has been looked at, but is not easily solved with SPARQL
20:11 egonw consider having to do it with SQL :)
20:16 sneumann know anyone who has experience with mychem/pgchem/orchem/XXX ?
20:16 egonw yeah: jpansanel
20:17 egonw jpansanel: ping
20:17 egonw jpansanel is the mychem author
20:17 sneumann ack.
20:17 egonw orchem is by Chris' team
20:17 sneumann and postgres is my favourite RDBMS :-)
20:18 egonw chemisql is the parent project
20:18 egonw governing all three of them
20:18 sneumann Seen those, I was looking for (performance) experience
20:18 sneumann first hand
20:18 sneumann so to say.
20:19 sneumann though jpansanel is probably biased :-)
20:19 egonw :)
20:19 sneumann any of those lightly integrated into BioClipse ?
20:19 egonw you could ask on http://blueobelisk.stackexchange.com/
20:19 zarah egonw's link is also http://tinyurl.com/y8oop8q
20:19 egonw or I could do that instead, if you prefer
20:20 sneumann don't have an account there
20:20 egonw no, none yet, but we are talking about that
20:20 egonw OpenID
20:20 sneumann ah, got that
20:20 sneumann I'll post my mail then
20:20 sneumann slightly edited
20:20 egonw thanx
