15:57 edrin Hello Juul, who are you?
15:58 Juul hey edrin :) I'm working with the BIOFAB team to develop bioinformatics tools for synthetic biology
16:00 edrin are you working on a bioclipse plugin?
16:01 edrin slyrus: are you writing a bioclipse plugin?
16:01 edrin Juul: ?
16:03 Juul edrin, not yet. i'm trying to get a grasp of the existing bioinformatics plugin
16:04 Juul i'm not sure what the features are
16:06 edrin the available features?
16:06 Juul yeah, i'm not sure what it can actually do
16:06 Juul i've only been able to load in a fasta sequence and view it graphically
16:06 Juul and i can't find any documentation
16:07 edrin Juul: i fear you cannot do that much yet
16:07 Juul ah that's what i suspected
16:08 edrin since most users are working in cheminformatics the power of bioclipse is in this field right now
16:08 Juul yeah
16:08 Juul i'm considering using BioJava + javascript for a project, so that's why I was looking at bioclipse
16:09 edrin the bioinformatics features will correlate with the amount of users and people writing plugins for bioinformatics
16:09 Juul yep
16:09 edrin Juul: I think for this Bioclipse might work
16:09 Juul yes I think it might be a good match
16:12 edrin is BIOFAB a company?
16:13 Juul biofab.org is an organization mostly made up of researchers from Stanford and Berkeley. everything they make will be free / open source
16:15 edrin ok
16:16 edrin are you hired by this organization or are you a free contributor?
16:16 edrin ( :) )
16:36 Juul edrin, I'm doing my masters thesis work in collaboration with them
16:36 edrin ah ok
16:36 edrin and what is your project?
16:39 edrin have to leave - have a nice evening
16:39 edrin ciao
16:39 Juul still being defined. it has to do with expression level control, but I don't want to go into a detailed explanation until it's better defined and I know it's ok to talk about it. It will be open like I said, but they might not want to publish the results until it's more complete
16:39 Juul bye

22:51 abereles can anyone give me a place to look to understand Spring's role in Bioclipse?
22:51 zarah abereles: You have new messages. Write '/msg zarah @messages' to read them.
22:57 samuell abeleres: jonalv is the one who is the best to answer, but the Wiki contains some info (though potentially a bit dated): http://wiki.bioclipse.net/index.php?title=Speci‚Äčal:Search&search=spring&fulltext=Search
22:57 zarah samuell's link is also http://tinyurl.com/274nrdm
23:00 samuell ( Jonalv use to be around at central european daytime, but if you ask bioclipse-users ( https://lists.sourceforge.net/‚Äčlists/listinfo/bioclipse-users ) he will probably see it. )
23:00 samuell "ask at", I mean.
23:03 abereles thanks, i will search the wiki; i am hoping the code itself will shed some light on this, too
23:18 abereles left #bioclipse
