13:10 Jan hey. I am having some trouble with bioclipse. I have it working fine on one computer. then I installed it on another computer. both win7. on the second computer it fails to start at all.
13:10 Jan the log is full of lines like this:
13:10 Jan !ENTRY org.eclipse.update.configurator 4 0 2012-11-27 14:06:26.114
13:10 Jan !MESSAGE Could not install bundle plugins/ch.qos.logback.classic_0.9.20.jar   Bundle "ch.qos.logback.classic" version "0.9.20" has already been installed from: reference:file:plugins/ch.qos.logback.classic_0.9.20.jar
13:10 Jan any ideas?
13:42 olass joined #bioclipse
13:43 egonw hi Jan
13:43 egonw how are you installing it?
13:44 egonw the MESSAGE almost suggest that it was already installed??
13:46 Jan I downloaded the zip. and just ran the exe
13:46 Jan I didn't find any installer (for 2.4)
13:54 egonw well, that sounds OK...
13:54 egonw let me ask olass
13:55 olass hi
13:55 olass use the latest beta please
13:55 egonw http://wiki.bioclipse.net/index.php?title=Bioclipse_2.6_Release
13:55 olass the 2.4 is deprecated and will be discontinued
13:55 olass yes, thanks
13:56 Jan ok. thanks.
13:56 Jan just strange that it works on one computer and not the other..
13:56 egonw it is
13:56 egonw but I am not running Win7 myself, so cannot easily reproduce it...
13:56 egonw please let us know what 2.6 gives
14:06 Jan yes that works. though the 64bit version installs in the Program Files (x86) folder
14:07 olass is that wrong?
14:07 * olass is not experienced with windows
14:08 Jan yes. 64bit programs go in "Program Files". 32bit programs in "Program Files (x86)"
14:08 Jan if you are on a 64bit system that is
14:09 olass ok, I will relay this to Gpox (who did the installer)
14:09 egonw Jan: which Jan are you? the Jan H.J. from Copenhagen?
14:09 egonw :)
14:10 Jan hehe no. I know him though. I work at the same university but different department.
14:10 Jan I am a phd student
14:10 olass do you know Patrik Rydberg?
14:11 Jan I was 3.5 months in Steffen Neumann's earlier this year also
14:11 Jan no I haven't heard of him
14:12 Jan I can see that he works at the precious university of pharmacy though... where I got my Msc
14:12 Jan *previous
14:13 Jan you might know my professor: http://www.ihe.life.ku.dk/English/The-Department/Staff/Personvisning.aspx?personid=16538
14:13 Jan if you were ever in a conference with him he would be the one always asking questions....
14:31 egonw I do not know Dragsted
14:31 egonw what is your PhD about?
14:31 egonw btw, we're in the middle of a hackathon, and going crazy with hacking :)
14:32 Jan cool! hacking what?
14:32 egonw Open PHACTS, PathVisio, Bioclipse, and a lot more
14:32 egonw but central is:
14:32 egonw Open PHACTS and wikipathways.org
14:33 Jan sounds fun
14:34 Jan my phd is nutritional metabolomics. specifically looking for differences after intake of different whey proteins
14:36 Jan are you at the NORMAN MassBank Workshop? that is today too
14:39 egonw fluxes?
14:39 egonw or abundances?
14:39 egonw no, we're at SWAT4LS
14:41 Jan abundances. not sure what you mean by fluxes
14:47 olass :)
15:00 egonw the fluxes is how fast metabolites get interconverted
15:00 egonw Jan: have you seen PathVisio?
15:01 egonw we have a PhD working on that to visualize metabolomics data...
15:01 egonw that is, given a MB pathway, we can color the metabolites by abundance
15:02 Jan cool. yeah I/we really should look into thinks like that
15:03 Jan now it is the old fashioned way to make sense of things
15:04 Jan ah now I think I understood what you meant. so fluxes as in transformation of metabolites?
15:04 egonw yes
15:04 Jan so in my case I for example see the amino acids and their catabolic products
15:22 sneumann_ joined #bioclipse
15:30 Jan egonw: yes I think I saw it briefly. we did a metabolomics course last year. in one of the lectures we had invited someone that presented it I think. Don't remember that well
15:33 cruttkie joined #bioclipse
15:33 Jan found it. we had Martina Kutmon from maastricht university give a presentation of it
15:37 egonw ah, nice
15:37 egonw she's sitting next to me...
15:37 egonw well, one but next
