15:59 space_agent hello!
16:00 space_agent I want to extract 1000 sequences from a multifasta file that contains 21000 seqs. I use the identifier as query. Can anybody suggest what would be the best method?
16:02 space_agent I tried to search the whole file for each query and went to the start of the file again with sysseek, tried to store the identifier and the corresponding sequence in a hash or in array. Suprisingly the first of the latter method seems to be fastest.
