01:27 Ryan_Lane clmoreno: depends on the type of authentication. for user authentication for the frontend it supports google auth, SAML and header authentication
01:28 Ryan_Lane clmoreno: for CLI (user or service) it supports a custom form of authentication that uses AWS's KMS service

21:30 lyftbot [russmac] Hey guys, Is it intended function for the / domain to redirect to /loggedout without attempting auth? I can login from /v1/login however previous version the / path also worked. Seems too spurious to lodge a GH issue.
22:18 lyftbot [russmac] ^This is with google oauth2 btw.
22:38 Ryan_Lane russmac: yeah, this was an intended change. basically if you're not logged-in, you get sent to the loggedout page, which tell you that you aren't logged in
22:39 Ryan_Lane russmac: this was for a number of reasons, the biggest of which was being able to use secure cookies, rather than redis-backed session cookies
22:54 lyftbot [russmac] I liked that change, My puppet is much smaller :).
22:55 lyftbot [russmac] I'm curious why not redirect to login? I've written an Oauth2 layer myself in Lua and that was how I handled no session cookie.
22:56 lyftbot [russmac] I can see why for a public facing site.
23:09 Ryan_Lane russmac: was very difficult to handle without causing a redirect loop
23:09 Ryan_Lane also made it impossible to log out
23:10 lyftbot [russmac] I understand now, Thanks :).
23:34 Ryan_Lane russmac yw :)
23:34 Ryan_Lane russmac if there's any improvements we can make, let me know (or open a github issue) :)
23:36 lyftbot [russmac] I promised some sort of contribution months ago but newborn is keeping me far too busy. Maybe in 18 years I can.
