15:17 bene no follow ups on that groups post about selinux, eh?
15:18 dotplus In a vagrantfile, I want to use a gem that is not provided with vagrant. I thought that /opt/vagrant/embedded/bin/gem install <mygem> would be sufficient, but even after saying that it installed successfully, it's not available in my vagrantfile. Any real(er) rubyist have suggestions?
15:44 pdurbin bene: please reply!
16:22 bene not gonna do it
16:22 bene wouldn't be prudent
17:56 pdurbin There must be a more on topic place for that question. But where?
17:59 bene the "how do i secure a host on the internet" question?
17:59 pdurbin yeah
18:00 pdurbin this one: RHEL Linux, SELinux and Shibboleth - Google Groups - https://groups.google.com/forum/#!msg/dataverse-community/U04sLtEkJ7Q/HTufSDqgAgAJ
18:01 bene i see that as two questions
18:01 bene the "how do i secure a host on the internet" question
18:01 bene and the "why haven't the shibboleth devs gotten their act together and written an selinux policy for it"
18:01 bene question
18:02 pdurbin maybe they're busy
18:02 pdurbin or volunteers
18:02 pdurbin or both
18:03 bene it's a federated authentication system isn't it?
18:03 bene idp
18:04 dotplus shibboleth is (was?) developed largely by .edu people so perhaps their employers don't a) give them the necessary time  b) care much about selinux
18:05 bene as an idp it's a core part of your security infra
18:05 bene if the devs can't be bothered to spend time documenting a secure installation method, then... maybe no one should be running it
18:07 bene anyway, you can buy commercial support for shibb now
18:07 bene https://shibboleth.net/community/consultants.html
18:07 bene i should write a TE module for it and then sell my consulting service i guess
18:07 pdurbin bene: do it, do it
18:24 dotplus bene: no argument from me. Just used to be a .edu admin for 8 years
18:29 pdurbin bene: would you open source your TE module?
18:43 bene open source the only hypothetical IP for my hypothetical consultancy? no.
18:51 pdurbin bummer
19:01 pdurbin bene: http://crimsonfu.github.io says "Open source by default" and "When in doubt, make it public" :)
