00:09 * larsks is a bash user since forever.
00:29 pdurbin I go for defaults so I use bash.
01:22 hydrajump I switched from bash (default on macOS) to zsh a few years ago. Don't recall why I did it and recently started googling the difference between the two and reconsidering my choice.
01:22 hydrajump Or finding a justification for switching ;)
11:43 pdurbin I've heard good things about the fish shell.
16:53 JoeJulian shouldn't that be "shell fish"?
17:15 pdurbin there's no need to be shellfish
17:20 larsks you're going to make everyone crabby
18:17 hydrajump i've been playing with asciinema and I'm debating whether to convert the recordings to a gif so I wouldn't need to add the JS player. THe thing with gifs it seems is that you can't pause and scrub them.
18:17 hydrajump I don't think anyway
18:26 dotplus animated gifs are awful, IMO
18:27 larsks hydrajump: also, with the original asciinema recording, you can copy/paste text, which can be really useful.
18:33 hydrajump larsks: this is true
19:07 hydrajump any open source project that uses asciinema in their docs or site?
19:13 hydrajump I'm specifically wondering about using # comments in between commands or "Sections" to help the viewer follow along
