03:08 pdurbin hydrajump: I guess you should measure it. Don't trust what people write. :)

12:03 hydrajump :P
12:03 hydrajump thanks for the link bene
13:08 pdurbin "There is 1 zombie process."
13:18 bene kill it with fire!
13:18 bene and then exit the server room because, you know, halon
13:21 pdurbin I never had this on CentOS. Only since I switch to Ubuntu. Maybe CentOS just didn't tell me when I logged in.
13:22 bene yeah, ubuntu has the dynamic motd.d thing
13:22 pdurbin oh
13:22 pdurbin ignorance is bliss
14:21 bene yeah
14:56 pdurbin Has anyone heard of Shadowsocks?
15:02 bene i hadn't
15:04 bene ssh -D is a thing and i use it
15:04 bene i guess on mobile it might be easier to use shadowsocks
15:05 pdurbin "Specifies a local ``dynamic'' application-level port forwarding." cool
15:05 bene but by the time you get there, maybe you should just set up one of the open source ipsec tunneling options on your mobile device and secure all your traffic on... uncertain networks?
15:06 bene socks proxy via ssh is pretty handy and i use it quite a bit
15:06 bene web interface to some remote device buried three firewalls deep on some other network? 'ssh -D 5000', configure firefox to use the proxy and away you go
