18:08 markstos I'm trying to remember which recipe I want for this case:  I found two copies of the same patch in a repo, likely from an amend-record action. I want to delete the older patch, but the newer version of the patch "depends" on it.  I suppose I want to "rebase suspend" the newer patch version, oblit the older version, and then unsuspend the newer version..... let's see how that works. Thanks for listening. :)
18:09 gh_ :)
18:09 gh_ tell us how it goes
18:09 iago markstos, indeed, I suppose you want to "rebase suspend" :-P
18:10 markstos Looks like that's working well enough, thanks.
18:11 gh_ do we have examples of darcs repositories hosted on https?
18:12 gh_ I'm trying to reproduce http://bugs.darcs.net/issue2105
18:15 markstos If by chance you are using a Linux desktop, it's likely easy to setup a minimal SSL web server of your own in just a few minutes.
18:15 gh_ markstos, I found a few ones by searching "darcs get https" online
18:16 markstos even faster-- good thinking.
18:16 gh_ seems to work..
18:26 markstos Yikes, I just had unfortunate data loss due to that use of  darcs rebase. Both version of the amend patch had modified about 10 files (according to summary), but after I removed the older version of the patch, all that's left is a changes to 1 file. :(  Perhaps those changes were the "difference" between the original patch and the amended patch.  Looks like I made to go to backup tape to address this. Next time I'll try a different design patter
18:26 markstos n, or backup the repo before rebase'ing!

19:02 sm darnit.. erc drops connection and I don't notice
19:02 sm g'day all
19:04 markstos Good day.
19:05 markstos This was "interesting" I ran "darcs w -s" and got a "darcs failed" message about opening a pristine file. So I ran "darcs repair". It said "already consistent, no changes made", but now "darcs w -s" has started working. So it appears some change /was/ made, for the better.
19:25 iago markstos, if could be a bug in darcs whatsnew
