05:42 slack1256 It's only me or interactive edit hunks doesn't work?
05:53 dolio It's worked when I've used it.
05:56 slack1256 at least on rollback on 2.9.7 when used on a patch and had many reversed dependencies, it discarted the changes and got me the original.
05:56 slack1256 I will try with one official binary to see what happens

15:40 sm morning all
15:40 sm I've seen some discussion of diff problems
15:40 sm https://gist.github.com/simonmichael/6525372 looks like a bug, diff is correct but whatsnew isn't
15:41 sm this is darcs 2.9.7 + 143 patches
15:44 owst sm: weird!
15:44 owst Anything in _darcs/patches/pending?
15:45 sm owst: just a pair of curly braces
15:45 sm with a newline between them
15:45 owst That's the empty sequence of patches.
15:45 owst AFAIR
15:45 owst CAn you tell diff to not use patience (I forget which is the default)
15:47 sm owst: diff doesn't have that option, and is probably still using the old one (myers ?)
15:48 owst What about whatsnew (I admit I've not carefully followed what's now got what options)
15:48 sm whatsnew --myers works correctly. The bug is with the new default patience diff
15:48 owst Cool
15:48 sm is there a patience diff dev we can hand this off to ?
15:49 owst jlneder is doing it for GSOC, no?
15:49 sm ah, bood
15:49 sm good

15:50 owst gh_ ping ^^
15:50 * sm adds "whatsnew myers" to ~/.darcs/defaults meanwhile
15:50 gh_ yes?
15:50 gh_ oh
15:50 owst Seems there's a bug
15:51 gh_ sm, thanks for the report!
15:52 gh_ yes patience is on by default. precisely for things like this to happen the earliest possible :-/
15:52 gh_ sm, to use the previous algorithm you can use the flag --myers
15:53 sm gh_: no problem. I've made myers the default again
15:53 sm (will switch back to patience when this fix lands)

17:15 owst sm: just a thought, it'd be good to have a testcase for that diff bug - is the repo with the problem public?
17:19 whaletechno joined #darcs
17:27 sm owst: no, it's a client repo. If jlneder needs I'll help find a minimal test case
17:32 Heffalump someone else posted a diff bug to the tracker, hopefully it'll turn out to be the same
17:50 jlneder joined #darcs
17:56 jlneder hi, i'm implementing the --look-for-replaces flag for de record command, and i want to know which way you think it should work. I write about it in here: http://darcs.net/Using/LookForReplaces
