13:19 bernalex does darcs support gpg signing of commits and tags (insert whatever darcs call these things -- I'm not familiar with darcs (yet ;-))
13:30 bernalex I see that darcs push has --sign. with git you'd do it when you commit, but uhm I'm not really following the whole records and patches thing yet. so I assume it's fine. as long as you can verify the integrity of the repo, it's good.

13:33 notdan bernalex: I personally haven't tried it, but there is a secion in the manual describing the process: http://darcs.net/manual/bigpage.html#SECTION00550000000000000000
13:33 notdan hth
13:33 bernalex notdan: yes, I'm reading this ATM
13:33 bernalex but I don't see any verification in darcs pull -- only in darcs apply. does darcs pull mean darcs apply each patch, like git pull is really git fetch && merge?
13:36 notdan Hm I am not sure about that

16:21 sm bernalex: yes it does
16:26 mornfall sm: no, it doesn't; the signature push makes is thrown away in remote apply
16:26 mornfall it's just for access control, not for integrity
16:26 sm pull does an apply, is all I meant
16:26 mornfall yes, but it doesn't check any signatures
16:27 notdan does apply check the signatures?
16:27 mornfall (it also doesn't run apply, it's different code that does the same thing in the backend)
16:27 sm I see, thx
16:27 mornfall notdan: only if you ask for it with --verify
16:27 mornfall notdan: you need a corresponding gpg keyring too
16:27 notdan I see, coolthx
16:43 bernalex wait so pulling doesn't verify signatures? WTF?
16:44 bernalex mornfall: so there's no way of verifying the integrity of a repo?
16:45 mornfall there's no integrity to speak of

20:00 Heffalump 'darcs check' will check against corruption
20:02 f-a my country might need 'darcs check'
20:04 bernalex Heffalump: using what criteria?
20:04 bernalex does it protect against MitM attacks?
20:08 Heffalump nope
20:10 Heffalump what's the protection scenario you're looking for? Where you have an independently verified hash of a repo state that you want to get?
