06:53 Heffalump sm: http://hub.darcs.net/ganesh/darcsden-abstract-settings - that should make the test harness safe to run. A couple of the tests fail, but it shouldn't destroy your prod instance any more.

12:28 iago Hi, any experience on using Darcs as a "patch queue" for other VCS?
12:29 Heffalump I think Joachim Breitner wrote something to do that
12:38 Heffalump http://www.joachim-breitner.de/blog/archives/425-ipatch,-the-interactive-patch-editor.html
12:38 iago You mean ipatch, I guess it could work
12:39 iago Even though for my use case it should be simpler
12:40 iago I just would like a sort of "darcs push" that can push changes to a Mercurial repository
12:40 iago "just" :-)
12:40 Heffalump need a proper bridge for that really
12:41 Heffalump I guess in theory you could hack up something simpler
12:45 iago Would be crazy to hack something simple using fast-convert, or there are many corner cases to consider?
12:46 Heffalump not sure I'd use fastconvert, but perhaps
12:46 Heffalump how would you handle merging?
12:47 iago I don't want to, I think
12:48 iago my workflow is: create empty patch queue, work on a set of changes, finalize those changes, push to remote repository
12:49 iago everything should apply cleanly to my local copy
12:49 iago Now I'm using mercurial MQ for this, but it is less flexible than Darcs
13:13 Heffalump iago: but what will you do if the remote changes in the meantime?
13:18 iago Well, I am fine forcing me to finalize the patch queue before pulling
13:23 iago I think that I just need to export a Darcs changeset in a way that it can be imported by Mercurial, and then write a few simple scripts, which will work a restricted scenario (that I'm OK with)
13:25 iago I guess I could to that as darcs-fastconvert | hg fastimport
13:42 mornfall iago: check limitations on hg fastimport carefully -- importing into existing repos may be tricky
13:43 mornfall there's marksfile support in darcs-fastconvert IIRC, but you'll need to possibly do a fair amount of bookkeeping to make it work
