08:05 adnap Hey
08:06 adnap I I don't have a lot of experience with darcs. I was wondering if you can reorganize patches so that someone can build variants of software with different functionality by applying patches
08:08 adnap So that maybe someone can use compile-time flags to incorporate patches that add functionality

13:49 rdesfo good morning, I was wondering how to get hlint to recognize my changes so I asked a question on [stackoverflow](http://stackoverflow.com/questions/22689551/darcs-hlint-not-recognizing-changes) mention it here as well to get more feedback.
13:51 rdesfo just an idea, but is there a way to get lambdabot to auto-post links from reddit and stackoverflow to the irc?

14:47 sm rdesfo: if they provide feeds, you could run rss2irc bots
14:50 rdesfo [stack's darcs](http://stackoverflow.com/feeds/tag?tagnames=darcs&sort=newest), [reddit's darcs](https://pay.reddit.com/r/darcs/new/.rss)
14:55 sm rdesfo: do you have a server to run them on ?
14:56 rdesfo sorry, I don'
14:56 rdesfo t*
14:57 sm I'd like to see those too. Unless the channel clearly requests it from me, I'd rather have someone else run them. Don't want to be the source of all bot noise
14:58 sm here's how I run hackagebot: https://gist.github.com/simonmichael/9809375
15:00 rdesfo sm: thanks
15:05 sm a word of warning, stackoverflow is draconian with bots, so poll them cautiously
15:06 rdesfo ok thanks
15:07 sm rss2irc 'http://stackoverflow.com/feeds/tag?tagnames=darcs&sort=newest' -r5 -l to test on command line.. I see the last question was in june
15:16 rdesfo is that in reverse order?  when I click the link it shows the post I made this morning
15:25 sm rdesfo: yes, most recent first
15:25 sm oh sorry.. oldest first
15:25 sm add -t to see times
15:28 sm so last was 1 hour ago and 9 days ago respectively. That's better
15:30 sm I think it would be a good move to knit such fora into the #darcs hive mind
15:36 rdesfo hive mind?
15:37 sm the collective intelligence that is the darcs community
15:37 rdesfo aww... sounds good
15:44 sm adnap: you can do that to quite an extent with darcs, as long as you keep the patches independent. But you would probably either selectively pull patches, or pull all and use conditional compilation - not both
15:48 sm or maybe both, what do I know
