09:49 MasseR stulli: how does it handle duplicate emails?
10:17 stulli MasseR: It doesn't account for duplicate emails. Couldn't you have multiple accounts with the same email address after all?
10:23 stulli MasseR: I just checked: on account creation there is no check for dups either.
11:18 Heffalump looks nice
11:18 Heffalump the forgot password page (http://hub.darcs.net/forgotpassword) is based on usernames, not emails, so I can't think of a situation where duplicate emails would matter
11:19 Heffalump and hi stulli :-)

12:01 stulli hi Heffalump. I also noticed an issue with the SSH package: http://hub.darcs.net/stulli/ssh/patch/20141004114726-e8089

16:51 stulli Are there plans for darcsden to move away from redis (the haskell library)? It is unmaintained and uses MonadCatchIO-mtl which is deprecated and does not build with ghc 7.8.

20:45 sm stulli: great! I'll deploy when I return from vacation
20:46 sm no plans that I know of, we're not wedded to redis if you can make it work fine without it
20:46 sm in fact we'd like to depend on fewer exotic dbs
20:46 sm we were interested in substituting sqlite IIRC

21:21 Heffalump stulli: I wrote an alternate in-memory backend for the test harness, so we could in theory drop redis whenever we wanted (if we didn't mind a darcsden restart dropping all session state)
21:22 Heffalump but we could also fork redis if we want
21:22 Heffalump I mean we could move away from the database, and we could fork the Haskell library, obviously :-)
21:23 Heffalump we could possibly also take over the Haskell library, if it has been dropped
21:23 Heffalump I'm also a bit unsure if the CouchDB haskell library is maintained, I have a patch for it (not submitted yet) so will have to see how that goes
21:24 stulli The description of redis says there is a more complete and better maintained library called hedis. Maybe that's an option.
