00:57 gh_ sm, what are the bad consequences of the current darcs way of fast-exporting, wrt file renames?
00:57 gh_ sm, on a simple example git is able to follow a rename using the "--follow" flag of "git log"
01:25 sm gh_: I think whenever there was a file rename/move, I ended up with both files

01:37 gh_ sm, I don't see it in a small test I made. neither I saw it in darcs' repo converted to git, and darcs has renames
01:37 gh_ we'd need to reproduce it
02:00 sm it was with the http://hub.darcs.net/simon/shelltestrunner repo
02:01 sm (gh_)

04:12 gh_ sm, I just tried with darcs HEAD, doing a git mirror and diffing between the darcs working copy and git's one, and saw no difference. There was a severe bug fixed by Ben a couple of weeks ago: http://bugs.darcs.net/issue2427
04:12 gh_ so maybe now your repo's situation is fixed
04:56 gh_ sm, sorry, indeed there is a problem with a patch that moves directories, I removed all irrelevant patches from this clone: http://hub.darcs.net/gh/shelltestrunner-export

18:50 Heffalump gh_: in fixing a bug (issue2445) ideally I'll do some refactoring as I go. Is it ok to do that for 2.10? (It should be fairly simple refactoring, just moving some code and reorganising the way a parameter is passed)
18:52 gh_ Heffalump, if it's more convenient for you and requires less work, yes sure.
18:52 gh_ Heffalump, currently there does not seem to be a lot of concurrent activity

20:10 Heffalump ok, thanks, just checking you didn't want to limit 2.10 to minimal changes
20:30 gh_ sm, I've fixed the directory move bug in HEAD

20:47 gh_ sm, also the abusive tags rewriting is fixed

22:17 gh_ I find the "priority" field of the bug tracker useless
