14:03 crocket Is darcs decent enough?
14:03 crocket Does darcs have decent source code hosting facilities?
14:04 maerwald darcsden
14:05 maerwald http://hub.darcs.net/
14:05 maerwald you can install it on your own servers
14:07 crocket darcsden seems to be a slightly improved gitweb.
14:09 crocket Let me ask
14:09 crocket Is darcsden easy to deploy and upgrade?
14:09 crocket Deploying and upgrading github was like hell.
14:09 crocket I mean gitlab
14:21 maerwald crocket: http://hub.darcs.net/simon/darcsden/browse/README.md
14:22 maerwald it's farily easy compared to gitlab
14:22 maerwald I am running both
14:42 sm morning
15:18 notdan crocket: deploying darcsden is fairly easy, modulo external dependencies
15:18 notdan upgrading? well, as easy as any haskell program tbh
15:18 notdan but IMO darcs is 'decent enough'
17:26 * Heffalump appears
17:29 Heffalump gh: I've been reviewing some patches that should go into 2.10 as well. Should I mark them as accepted or leave them in some other state?
17:59 pointfree Would anyone be interested in a darcs T-shirt? Profits would go to darcs/sfc of course.
18:03 pointfree It would be great if I could get an SVG copy of this version of the darcs logo: http://darcs.net/releases/branch-2.3/doc/logos/plain_logo.png I think that version of the logo would look better on a T-shirt.
18:07 Heffalump pointfree: I would
18:09 Heffalump see http://darcs.net/static/img/logos/ for an svg
18:10 Heffalump seems to be the one with the background rather than the plain one, but I guess since svg is a vector format it should be possible to edit accordingly
18:17 pointfree Yeah, I should be able to delete the background circle from the SVG. I'll look into it later today.
18:27 pointfree Should I include the slogan 'distributed. interactive. smart.' or 'distributed. interactive. simple.' Or no slogan at all? I know there was some ambivalence about the last part of the slogan. Some thought 'smart' gives the (false) impression that darcs employs some kind of AI and guesses what your intentions are. 'simple' is accurate but doesn't capture the 'smart' Maybe 'distributed. interactive. elegant.' (or something) would be

18:42 notdan oh I would like to make darcs stickers
18:42 notdan that would be cool imo
18:44 dolio D.I.E.
18:47 Heffalump notdan: ooh yes, that too
18:48 Heffalump pointfree: I'd go with what the webpage has now, to avoid rehashing any discussion about it :-)
18:48 dolio I'd buy a t-shirt.
18:48 Heffalump unless you think we should change it
18:56 notdan Heffalump: I think I got tests figured out :D at least  the worst part of it. however, I had to modify hsp :{
19:10 alexei___ joined #darcs
19:10 Heffalump notdan: cool. How come re changing hsp?
19:22 notdan It was producing unparsable (as it turns out, in practice -- not in theory) HTML.
19:24 Heffalump i.e. browsers liked it but a Haskell library didn't?
19:27 sm pointfree: I would!
19:46 notdan Heffalump: pretty much; none of the parsing libraries i tried worked. but browsers are known to be very lenient
19:46 notdan I mean the html *does* look weird, just go to any page on the hub
19:59 Heffalump the closing tag on the next line thing?
19:59 Heffalump I mean closing >
20:01 Heffalump I think that style is often used to avoid space leaks in pretty printers
20:10 sm isn't it also to avoid unintended whitespace affecting browser page layout
20:18 Heffalump ah, maybe
20:18 Heffalump I'm surprised that standard parsers don't like it though
20:21 sm me too
20:21 sm it's been around for a long time
20:24 Heffalump notdan: an alternative might be to munge the text before trying to parse it
20:31 notdan yeah but I don't really know which whitespaces to squash and which to leave out
20:32 notdan it is pretty weird - they break on the script tag for some reason :S
20:41 notdan lol, how the hell 'git rebase --interactive' is exactly 'interactive'?
20:41 Heffalump would any whitespace before an '>' be ok?

22:49 gh_ Heffalump, about http://irclog.perlgeek.de/darcs/2015-06-08#i_10717288 just mark them as accepted and push them to reviewed, this week I'll try to go through all patches of reviewed\branch 2.10 and see what should go in

23:55 crocket How does darcsden upgrade CouchDB and Redis data?
23:55 crocket Does it need a special treatment as gitlab does when I upgrade data?
