18:56 MasseR I just today needed 'git log -G <grep>', which lists all the commits that modified a line that matches that regex. Does darcs have something similar?
18:59 sm MasseR: darcs log -p <regex>
18:59 sm oh wait. no.
18:59 MasseR Let me guess, that searches from commit descriptions?
19:00 sm or maybe. See "hunk" in darcs help patterns
19:01 sm notdan: I've merged (and deployed to darcs hub!) most of your pending patches
19:01 sm I'll tackle the rest another day
19:01 notdan thank you, sm! For reals, you are the guy!
19:02 notdan MasseR: darcs changes --match 'hunk *pattern*'
19:02 sm thanks for making patch urls unique, that is really useful. What do you think about using eg just the first 6 characters ? Seems unique enough and nicer for sharing urls
19:02 MasseR sm: notdan thanks
19:03 notdan sm: hm, I am actually not sure how the hash codes are generated, and what is the collision chance
19:03 notdan but if you think that 6 chats is enough I am definitely fine with that
19:04 sm actually 7 chars is what git uses
19:04 notdan I am working on a patch for darcsden-cli that would allow one to say `den --get http://hub.darcs.net/user/repo/patch/<HASH>` and it will download the patch and the dependencies
19:04 sm so eg http://hub.darcs.net/simon/darcsden/patch/2cf1a5c2d64e6a51a5916e0cdf5b07b18d5da544 would be http://hub.darcs.net/simon/darcsden/patch/2cf1a5c
19:05 sm or in fact, if both abbreviation and full hash worked that would be nice
19:06 notdan yeah that would be even better
19:07 notdan btw, there is some sort of dependency canvasing code in darcsden IIUC
19:07 notdan but I can't seem to figure out how is it used?
19:07 sm I haven't looked at that
19:07 sm also are we comfortable adding den/Den as a new name for things ?
19:10 notdan for what things?
19:11 sm something is named Den in a recent patch, and I think your local cli tool is named den ?
19:12 notdan oh, are you refering to the 'DenInstance' class/'DenConfig' type?
19:12 notdan hm I guess it's up to you
19:12 sm I just like consistent naming, so I'm thinking aloud
19:13 sm I have not better ideas right now
19:13 sm no
19:13 sm no better ideas
19:14 sm anyway, everyone please exercise any of the new features that would be visible on darcs hub (notdan which would those be.. just patch urls ?) and let me know of any regressinos
19:19 sm notdan++, thanks!
19:22 notdan Yeah I think just patch urls
19:22 notdan and some cosmetic features
19:23 notdan https://blog.benjojo.co.uk/post/auditing-github-users-keys uhh :(
19:24 notdan It seems like the canvas code has not been working for quite a while
20:12 sm ouch (github keys)

20:44 notdan sm: can you also merge http://hub.darcs.net/co-dan/darcsden-to-merge/patch/fc520598f65a396e1f8437934c875fbc87cf9b5f ?

21:09 sm notdan: done
21:13 Heffalump notdan: den --get sounds nice. Do you think it would be possible to make it so that darcs pull worked on that URL?
21:17 Heffalump re abbreviation versus full hash, how about any unambiguous prefix?
