14:40 Heffalump notdan: some of the patch showing infrastructure also tries to carry some context around
14:40 Heffalump I'd quite like the darcsden changes view to allow expanding the context
14:45 Heffalump darcs diff is kind of the wrong approach (although probably the most convenient at present) because it discards semantic information about moves, token replace etc.

23:54 pointfree fr33domlover, I've thought about semantic web (atom, foaf) aggregation as a source of inspiration for federation.
23:54 pointfree ..the missing piece with the semantic right now is the discovery of "endpoints" ...thats when I thought of named-data (content-centric) networking in relation to darcs and darcsden. With NDN you wouldn't effectively need to discover endpoints because it's content-name centric rather than location centric networking. I think NDN also happens to be a good fit for darcs because darcs is patch (content) centric rather than history cent

23:56 fr33domlover pointfree, thanks for sharing this!
23:56 fr33domlover it's basically a combination of peer detection with a semantic data model, it seems
23:58 fr33domlover endpoints aren't always an issue though
23:58 fr33domlover they are mostly when you want web search style functionality
23:59 fr33domlover otherwise, nodes can manually hold links to each other, which makes sense as part of the data model
23:59 fr33domlover (e.g. my darcs repo can give write access to your user account with name N located in some other server S)
