04:00 IcyFoxy Heffalump: I know. The named patch code would 'select' the primitives to try. While selecting these prims, also sorting them into lists unique per context. Then if they all commute, that named patch is good. Multiple named patches could be batched at once where all their primitives are selected. If any errors occur, the result could be partial such as the prims that worked and the prims that didn't, which w
04:00 IcyFoxy ould then corelate back to which named patches worked, and which didn't.
04:07 IcyFoxy ^ I'm unsure about the batching, but if the two branches being merged are known good; shouldn't hurt.
05:05 Heffalump IcyFoxy: fair enough, sound slike a fair amount of bookkeeping
05:08 IcyFoxy Indeed, lists of lists. But The plus side, is we don't touch things we know we won't touch.
05:09 IcyFoxy And it is really just runtime filtered down iterators.
05:09 IcyFoxy I'll have to see it in practice, but I'm expecting it'll be fine.
05:11 IcyFoxy sm: As for the rebase hang on a non-lazy repo. I have a slow connection so fetching the full history isn't so fun. But I'll try it.
05:11 IcyFoxy Hmm... How do you pull in the rest - past lazy?
05:18 Heffalump the rest of what?
05:25 IcyFoxy The repository patch history?
05:25 IcyFoxy Rather; all the primitives. IIRC I have all the named
05:25 IcyFoxy --lazy, to non lazy
05:41 Heffalump I'm not sure exactly where the code is, but darcs looks in _darcs/prefs/sources and goes to the remote repository to get the patches
05:48 IcyFoxy Oops
05:49 * IcyFoxy just deleted the repo to restart... it had my darcs bin in .cabal-sandbox

18:51 sm IcyFoxy: to make a lazy repo strict, I believe "darcs check" will do
18:51 sm otherwise just get another copy without --lazy
18:52 sm A lot of "hanging" problems in the past have been in repos which did not have all the patches fetched locally
