Time Nick Message
00:05 sm Heffalump: CouchDB-1.2.2 has "Remove incorrect Content-Encoding header, needed for recent CouchDBs (#17 in old repo)", I wonder my darcshub-ssh is built with an older CouchDB and hitting this
00:05 sm if
00:07 sm I'd like to test a new build, but that means going back to GHC 7.6 due to http://hub.darcs.net/ganesh/ssh/issue/3 - any thoughts on how to fix that ?
00:10 sm one other issue open on that old darcs repo btw: http://hub.darcs.net/ganesh/ssh/issue/4
00:10 sm I didn't find the *old* old repo with issue #17 in it
00:20 sm dino-: FYI, http://hub.darcs.net/simon/darcsden/issue/141

06:00 Heffalump sm: thanks for the heads up - been neglecting ssh a bit lately (scared of the new protocol I really need to add!)
06:02 Heffalump we never got to the bottom of the segfaults you had back in April, unfortunately. I can't actually remember the exact trigger except that I could only reproduce it on your VM.
06:08 * Heffalump tries to remember why he was worried about RSA 2
06:09 IcyFoxy Evening Heffalump
06:17 Heffalump hi IcyFoxy
06:19 Heffalump it's morning here (Lodon:_-) (London)
06:22 IcyFoxy Morning then :)
06:22 IcyFoxy Did you happen to see my message for you last night? (Time for me at least)
06:23 IcyFoxy <IcyFoxy> Heffalump: Not sure if I mentioned that I had another re-write iteration.  I decided to focus on Hunks the other day. I'm also going to try an alternative merge algorithm. https://gist.github.com/james-darkfox/ca5ae315ed9102bd9aaa

06:25 * IcyFoxy partly documented the alternative merge in that code.
06:44 Heffalump IcyFoxy: is that the comment in Commutable?
06:44 Heffalump are you trying to accumulate offset changes across multiple patches? I'm not quite sure I understand the general idea
06:46 Heffalump I've thought about doing that before but it feels quite complicated in general
07:04 IcyFoxy Heffalump: Yes. And it'll need to keep track of a set of included patch identifiers to ensure that it doesn't double up (and applies inversed offsets to the respective lists to prevent overlap).
07:05 IcyFoxy It may be more complicated, but It's at least an idea that is worth testing out to compare.

09:03 maerwald sm: I also remember that there was a couchdb version problem
09:04 maerwald but 1.6.1 should work

14:46 wasili hello everybody! Is there anybody who would like to help me? I got a problem pushing to hub.darcs.net via ssh
14:54 wasili http://darcs.net/Troubleshooting#darcs-push-ssh-stdout-problems suggests bash is interfering wth the command. In fact, if I type "darcs push user@hub.darcs.net:/path/to/repo" it complains about not findning "path/to/repo//_darcs/". I guess the extra slash is the problem but I don't know how to get rid of it (or where t came frome at the first place).

18:18 sm wasili: a lot of things cause that error message
18:18 sm darcs push to hub is working for me right now
18:18 sm check the ssh troubleshooting tips in the hub faq
18:19 sm Heffalump: huh.. so the ssh package built with 7.8 or 7.10 passes its tests in your environment ?
18:34 Heffalump sm: err, I think so. I'll have to check again now.
18:43 Heffalump sm: yes, passes with 7.8 and 7.10
18:46 Heffalump is it any better for you if you try a different RSA - as you pointed out, there's a patch at http://hub.darcs.net/lancelotsix/ssh
18:46 sm Heffalump: that wasn't me, but I'll try that later
18:46 Heffalump IM you pointed out the issue, not that you wrote the patch
18:46 sm I'm on a x86_64, linode VPS, ubuntu - you ?
18:46 sm oh
18:46 sm yes
18:47 Heffalump x86_64, VirtualBox VM, NixOS
18:49 sm strange. I'll let you know if I find out anything more
18:49 sm but now, off to jump in the ocean! o/
18:51 wasili hey sm, thx for your reply. I already read the faq. It says: "Diagnosis:  Customized rc files (.bashrc, .zshrc) on the remote that print to the stdout when sourced interfere with the communication between the remote repository and darcs."
18:51 wasili oh ok,good swimmig :)
18:52 Heffalump wasili: sm mentioned the hub.darcs.net FAQ whereas you mentioned the darcs.net FAQ - the former is specifically about the hosting site, the latter about darcs in general
18:52 Heffalump (I think)
19:31 sm right

20:33 lelit hi, is there a downloable static binary of darcs for GNU/Linux amd64? the one on darcs.net is a 404...
20:35 lelit I have a remote debian squeeze with darcs 2.4.4, and I get a "bad patch bundle!" trying to push there a few patches from my home machine, running a darcs 2.10.1
