13:04 bernalex hm. I subscribed to darcs-users & sent an email, but it doesn't show up. anyone know what might be up with that?
13:07 bernalex ok it came eventually. maybe moderation. or just slow. -_o_-
13:10 bernalex and I'm automatically spammed with links to Chinese .rar files. great.

18:39 prsai Hi
18:39 prsai I'm trying darcs send -o file
18:40 prsai but is requesting me a target repository
18:40 prsai I don't understand why
18:42 sm prsai: darcs send needs another repo to compare with to know what to send
18:45 prsai I thought the purpose of send was to send a patch to a repository you are not linked with
18:45 byorgey prsai: the purpose is to send a patch to a repository you do not have push access to.
18:46 prsai oh, ok
18:46 prsai then you need read only access to it
18:46 byorgey right
18:50 prsai but wouldn't be useful to have the alternative "send" I was thinking about?
18:51 prsai to send a patch beteween repositories that are not online
18:55 prsai imagine you are at work and do a patch, but you cannot send to your home computer because it's swiched off
18:56 prsai and when you are back at home you cannot pull from the work computer because it's switched off or behind a firewall
19:01 sm darcs obliterate -O saves the N most recent patches into a file that you can transfer and then apply to another repo. It also removes them from the current repo though, so you'd have to reapply them there
19:03 sm you could also use darcs diff to save one or more patches as a simple diff
19:03 sm (but that lacks the author, commit date etc.)
19:04 prsai I do that but only for working directory changes before do a record
