17:22 sm g'day all
17:22 sm how do I convert a repo to and from "bare" format ?
17:23 sm ie I have some repos where 'darcs show files' lists files, darcs whatsnew reports no changes, and the working copy contains only _darcs
17:24 sm ideally, in place
17:27 sm in a perfect world, recreating each file with the timestamp of its last commit
17:31 sm it seems something like darcs get . _copy; mv _copy/* .; rm -rf _copy, except also finding _copy/.* and avoiding _copy/_darcs
17:32 sm and I do need to script it, since it's for darcshub
17:55 sm alias darcs-unbare="darcs get . _new && tar  cf - --exclude=_darcs _new | tar xpf - --strip-components=1 && rm -r _new"
18:02 sm not enough.. now the working copy looks fine but darcs whatsnew reports no changes no matter what you do

18:05 sm ah, you have to remove |no-working-dir from _darcs/format
18:06 Heffalump I'd try editing _darcs/format, then use darcs rev -l or something like that
18:15 sm alias darcs-unbare="perl -pi -e 's/(.*)\|no-working-dir/\1/' _darcs/format && darcs revert -a"
18:35 Heffalump feels like it should be a subcommand in darcs convert
18:36 sm agreed
