17:40 pointfree posting here so I remember a possible way to get all the patches into DARCS_PATCHES_XML http://stackoverflow.com/questions/28865473/setting-environment-variable-to-a-large-value-argument-list-too-long
17:40 pointfree (currently the darcsden feed won't work when a largish number of patches are pushed all at once)
17:41 pointfree Although it does feel like DARCS_PATCHES_XML is redudant.

18:02 pointfree If I could hook into darcsden-ssh instead of darcsden-post-hook and populate the feed with the patch bundle applied there, then we would be operating on files instead of environmental variables. darcsden-post-hook could be eliminated.
18:03 pointfree setting up a darcsden instance would be easier as well.

18:18 pointfree While looking at darcsden-ssh stuff I remembered http://hub.darcs.net/simon/darcsden/issue/37 (forking from cli). I think this would be really convenient, but I think it would be more canonical to do it with darcs clone
18:19 pointfree However, I don't think "darcs clone" can currently take a remote destination.
18:24 Heffalump I thought it can now, that being how darcs put was replaced
18:32 pointfree Heffalump: Cool, so "darcs clone" understands remote destinations. Therefore it should just be a matter of adding something to darcsden-ssh.
18:34 pointfree although... "darcs clone" does not allow the user to provide a darcsden repo description.
18:35 pointfree perhaps this could be added as a separate command in darcsden-ssh ...(?)

18:56 pointfree sm: Is the darcshub email and dns setup using SPF, DKIM, and DMARC to keep emails out of spam folders?

19:25 pointfree regarding darcsden repo descriptions and forking remotely by cli via "darcs clone" I don't see why we couldn't add fake options to darcs that are only understood by darcsden-ssh
19:26 pointfree same applies to "ssh username@hub.darcs.net init myrepo description"
19:30 pointfree I don't see why this couldn't just be done with: darcs init username@hub.darcs.net:username/myrepo --description "this a repo"
19:33 pointfree The repo init could then be done with darcsden-ssh's doInitialize instead of literally calling "darcs init" directly. This way we could be using canonical darcs commands while still creating a couchdb document for the web interface, etc.

20:11 pointfree Heffalump: It looks like "darcs init" does not support remote destinations.
20:15 Heffalump I guess you could clone an empty repository to a remote destination, but that kind of sucks
20:16 pointfree yeah
20:18 Heffalump darcs clone basically makes a local repo and copies it across, so I guess darcs init could be taught to do that
20:29 sm pointfree: I doubt it
20:30 sm that would be good to do
20:30 sm check the headers to see how your mail provider rated it
20:34 pointfree sm: "spf=neutral ... is neither permitted nor denied by best guess record for domain of ..."
20:35 sm that's ok
20:35 sm what about X-Spam-Score or similar
20:38 pointfree sm: The email header does not contain X-Spam-Status or anything like it that I can see.
20:38 sm ok.. sometimes there is one, which helps troubleshoot spam filters
20:39 * sm looks
20:40 sm fastmail gave your last comment X-Spam-score: 0.0, which seems very good
20:41 sm but that might be somewhat custom to me
20:41 sm X-Spam-hits: BAYES_00 -1.9, HEADER_FROM_DIFFERENT_DOMAINS 0.001, HTML_MESSAGE 0.001,
20:41 sm ME_NOAUTH 0.01, MIME_HTML_MOSTLY 0.428, MPART_ALT_DIFF 0.79,
20:41 sm LANGUAGES en, BAYES_USED user, SA_VERSION 3.4.0
20:50 pointfree Hm. Well all other issue emails came through in the past, so maybe it's just a matter of training Google's Bayesian spam filter. I moved the email to my inbox.
21:40 sm pointfree: deployed. Thank you!
21:42 pointfree Until now, registering the username "logout" would have prevented everyone from logging out. You missed your chance everyone!
