09:45 teran * get status from Egor and review his code
09:45 AndreyGrebenniko mihgen, yes, we just switched off logging. But still, when we create 200 concurrent connections with siege, the very powerful server doesn't let us to log in. Looks like the problem lays deeper
09:45 openstackgerrit Julia Aranovich proposed a change to stackforge/fuel-web: Stickit for Nodes tab  https://review.openstack.org/55634

09:48 mihgen AndreyGrebenniko: what version of Fuel did you try? Actually debug should be off in 3.2 in apache
09:48 AndreyGrebenniko 3.2
09:48 mihgen so it's not off there?
09:48 openstackgerrit Matthew Mosesohn proposed a change to stackforge/fuel-web: added tab support for child modules of fuelmenu  https://review.openstack.org/57453
09:48 openstackgerrit A change was merged to stackforge/fuel-web: [1246251] MGMT, Storage nets have no gateway  https://review.openstack.org/54955
09:49 AndreyGrebenniko mihgen, yes, debug is off, but those strings with LogFormat produces tons of error logs
09:49 mihgen crap
09:50 mattymo nice
09:50 AndreyGrebenniko mihgen, if I exclude them from the conf it works much better
09:50 mihgen let us know please your further findings - we would be happy to incorporate it
09:50 mihgen AndreyGrebenniko: is there any place where you commit your changes?
09:50 mattymo my status report follows
09:50 mattymo Yesterday: Finished tabbing support to get as best as we can for now. Ready for QA.
09:50 mattymo * Began project on Fuel manifests refactoring to upstream. Blueprint here: https://blueprints.launchpad.net/fuel/+spec/merge-openstack-puppet-modules
09:50 mattymo Today: Rewrite patch for reading Fuel version to parse yaml and not do it in an ugly way.
09:50 mattymo * Will continue trying to meet all the key players (who I met briefly at Summit) of puppet-openstack community.
09:50 mattymo * Starting with Cinder, Glance, and Nova to begin merging project.
09:50 mattymo * Need to sync up with Andrew Woodward about a few storage topics since he already contributed to puppet-ceph and maybe we can finish this one first.
09:50 mattymo * Need to still sit with Roman V and Vladimir S on ruby on CentOS plans and discuss if SCL can help us here.
09:52 AndreyGrebenniko mihgen, btw yesterday we took a look into the internal cloud - error_log files include about 200G
09:53 AndreyGrebenniko mihgen, (changes) not yet, I feel we have to find the root firstly
09:54 mihgen AndreyGrebenniko: ok. would be happy to hear back from you with the findings :)
09:56 mattymo that is a really high number
09:57 mattymo AndreyGrebenniko, how long did it take to accumulate 200g logs?
09:58 AndreyGrebenniko mattymo, 10-17'th of Nov
09:59 AndreyGrebenniko mattymo, actually there are already 3 archive files, 1 per week, the first is small (low load), the second is about 10G (middle load), third is 180G

10:03 bogdando today: create blueprints for UI implementation for fencing targeted for 4.1
10:04 AndreyGrebenniko mattymo, sorry guys, wrong info, all what I had to do was to change the LogLevel parameter for errors - now it is "crit" instead of "warn"
10:04 mattymo oh but our default is warn level
10:04 mattymo and not crit]
10:04 mattymo and not crit
10:04 AndreyGrebenniko mattymo, but anyway, we cannot basically reject error messages
10:10 AndreyGrebenniko mattymo, right. If you got more than 15 users in the default env, it would not allow the 16'th user to log in, and apache produces error logs with lightsped
10:11 mattymo sweet
10:11 AndreyGrebenniko mattymo, if we increase prefork and working parameters - ti works better as much as the number of this increase
10:12 AndreyGrebenniko mattymo, if we switch off [error] logs - it works much better, but still 200 concurrent connections with siege force the real user to wait for 2 minutes before it logs in
10:13 AndreyGrebenniko mattymo, not quite clear why only single httpd instance serves for all the requests - it utilizes up to 150% CPU while others are under 0.5%
10:16 mattymo don't worry, AndreyGrebenniko, there are other bottlenecks after apache

Is it possible to deploy ha multinode + ceph as backed for objects/volumes but using separate cloud ? Another question: could two or more opnestack clusters share same ceph storage, by sharing I mean using same pools for similar type of objects.

19:09 xarses aleksandr_null: you can short circuit this logic by over-riding the current value for primary_mon and ensuring that all of the cloud nodes can ssh to and access /etc/ceph/*

20:20 aleksandr_null thanks Andrew, but I'm talking about could we do that during installation. Not after it was completed.
20:21 aleksandr_null And by using other cloud I mean that we need to deploy openstack with ceph support without installing ceph OSD's, MON's and all the staff because cluster will be already installed.
20:22 aleksandr_null Btw. Still have a problems with fuel4.0. Installation hangs when all nodes completed centos install but not moving forward.
20:23 aleksandr_null Nodes itself booted fine to centos but masternode seems failing to detect that.
20:23 aleksandr_null Last log strings on every node is : 2013-11-22 11:51:26 INFO
20:23 aleksandr_null Installing kernel-2.6.32-358.123.2.openstack.el6.x86_64

20:43 xarses aleksandr_null: you would have to work the ceph manifests around, you would still need to delgate a primary_mon, which your nodes would need ssh access to and you would need to run ceph::conf, and the two ceph:pool as is in ::ceph, but you would need to remove the refrences to ceph::mon
20:43 xarses and then just don't specify the ceph-osd roles
20:45 xarses the manifests current state don't support doing it any easier at this point; if we are able to absorb the new stackforge/puppet-ceph module when its ready, it would likely be more feasible then

22:31 tsduncan xarses when building the fuel iso, it up to the builder to modify the version in the fuelweb settings.yaml file to get the version correct in the UI?
22:32 tsduncan xarses: ^
22:40 xarses tsduncan: afaik the build scripts should do this for you. angdraug, rmoe_ ?
22:42 tsduncan That is not happening for me. Am I missing a step?
22:51 tsduncan rmoe, angdraug: should the fuelweb settings.yaml file be updated as part of the build process or is that a manual step?
23:01 xarses joined #fuel-dev
23:10 angdraug tsduncan: settings.yaml isn't modified by the build scripts
23:15 angdraug what exactly is it you don't like about settings.yaml you get in /etc/nailgun/?
23:16 tsduncan If I don't modify the version in nailgun/nailgun/nailgun/settings.yaml before the build, the UI still shows version 3.0.
23:19 angdraug that's not supposed to happen, let me look into that

23:20 angdraug what does PRODUCT_VERSION show in your config.mk?
23:21 tsduncan angdraug: PRODUC_VERSION is 3.2 which is what I am building.
23:23 angdraug so you're not using 3.2-fixes branch?
23:23 angdraug that has 3.2.1 in it
23:25 angdraug oh, and did you run make deep_clean before make?
23:26 tsduncan I am planning to move to 3.2.1 - but not yet. I ran make clean and manually removed local_mirror but I did not run deep_clean
23:28 angdraug basically version gets put into build/repos/version.yaml, from there into iso, and eventually gets appended to settings.yaml
23:28 angdraug so if you have the wrong version in version.yaml, that's what you're going to get in the UI
23:28 tsduncan maybe its has been fixed in 3.2.1
23:35 tsduncan angdraug: this is what is in my build/iso/isoroot/version.yaml:
23:35 tsduncan VERSION:
23:35 tsduncan release: 3.2
23:35 tsduncan astute_sha1 2770f16a1a2a8466e77bb4480cd80a910a4bfb47
23:35 tsduncan fuellib_sha1 59f2640fe1c289f6af48bd6d988e2a4fe24f0859
23:35 tsduncan nailgun_sha1 67de902326c85a7090f2c605da8b21daa6897d33
23:35 tsduncan ostf_sha1 50c4e28d7a8056b6c50bbfdc620a909a8f8b9918
23:36 angdraug ok, your version.yaml is good, so it's appending to settings.yaml part that failed for you
23:41 angdraug I assume that matches your /etc/naligun/version.yaml on the master node
