06:35 rawat_ hi all can any one tell me how can i create interfaces bond using command line ....???????
06:48 rawat_ hi all i want some help related to "astute.yaml" file can any ane please tell me how can i add the lines here for pre_deployment using plugin ...?????
07:03 rawat_ hi all

07:25 rawat_ How can i edit "astute.yaml" file using fuel plugin
07:25 rawat_ ?????
07:27 aliemieshko_ joined #fuel-dev
07:27 sgolovatiuk rawat_: CLI doesn't have a command for bond creating. However you can download all network settings with fuel net --download --env 1 --dir /tmp/fuel_settings
07:27 sgolovatiuk where 1 is your particular env
07:27 sgolovatiuk then you may hack something like perl -pi -e 's/172.16.0\d{0,2}.(\d{1,3})/10.108.1.$1/g' /tmp/fuel_settings/network_1.yaml
07:28 sgolovatiuk then upload back
07:28 sgolovatiuk fuel net --upload --env 1 --dir /tmp/fuel_settings/
07:30 sgolovatiuk concerning astute.yaml - plugin cannot override it. Though you can may overrides on hiera level. I recommend to see mattymo standalong database implementation https://github.com/mattymo/detach-database/blob/master/deployment_scripts/database_hiera_override.pp#L52-L109
07:30 sgolovatiuk rawat_: I hope ^^^ helps

15:12 DanyC hi, so on Fuel 6.1 does anyone know how nova-novncproxy service is managed on the controllers ? Is it managed by Pacemaker ?
15:14 bogdando DanyC, just as an ordinary OS-aware service
15:15 DanyC bogdando: ll /etc/init.d/|grep -i nova on the controller and had no output
15:16 bogdando DanyC, strange, locate shows /etc/init/nova-novncproxy.conf
15:16 bogdando /etc/init.d/nova-novncproxy
15:17 DanyC bogdando: no service in /etc/init.d/
15:18 DanyC however in nova-novncproxy.conf exec start-stop-daemon --start --chuid nova --exec /usr/bin/nova-novncproxy -- --config-file=/etc/nova/nova.conf
15:19 bogdando for usage questions, please report a bug and specify release info there. I provided the output for the 7.0 trunc.
15:21 DanyC okay, thanks. that make sense. So i guess you have no idea from top of your head ? (knowing you v acive on mailing :) )
15:22 bogdando I know that it is managed by OS :)

17:47 seens_ How to differtiate kvm compute vm and vmware compute vm in fuel through CLI?
18:05 ub joined #fuel-dev
18:10 sylwesterB joined #fuel-dev
18:12 xarses seens_: there is no detailed filtering like that from the CLI
18:14 xarses the UI appears to detect it from the "manufacturer" key in the node data
18:23 seens_ so, if we want to do specific tasks in kvm compute node through plugin how to do that
18:23 seens_ because vmware compute node role is also compute
18:25 seens_ can you help me how to write a plugin to source openrc and to run respective commands?
18:26 dims joined #fuel-dev
18:29 ogelbukh I think in plugin you can utilize fuelclient and determine a type of compute node from node's metadata
18:29 ogelbukh via fuel api

18:41 xarses seens_: their should be different roles for kvm-compute vs vmw-compute
18:43 seens_ <@xarses> in our environment we are planning to have vmware compute node along with neutron
18:44 seens_ <@xarses> manually we will create a vm from vmware in pxe network, so we will able to see the vmware vm and we assing compute role to that
18:45 xarses seens_: so you are not using vcenter intergration?
18:45 seens_ <@xarses> so tell me, how to differentiate vmware compute node from kvm compute node?
18:45 xarses seens_: what version of fuel are you using?
18:45 seens_ yes, we are going to use vcentre integration
18:46 seens_ <@xarses> fuel 6.1
18:46 xarses you don't deploy compute nodes for vcenter
18:46 xarses that is only for qemu/kvm hosts
18:47 xarses with the vcenter integration it will deploy nova-compute services (automaticly) on the controller nodes for every vcenter cluster configured
18:47 xarses the compute role is only used for where you want qemu/kvm nodes
18:48 xarses if you created a vm in vmware, and assigned the compute role to it, KVM would be installed on it
18:48 seens_ <@xarses> i will, i need to run set of configuration only on kvm compute node not on vmware compute through plugin. so in general fuel  6.1 what is the vmware compute role?
18:49 xarses again, there is no outward role for vmw compute
18:49 obcecado regarding vcenter integration, what manages the networking layer?
18:50 xarses obcecado: IIRC nova vlan or flat dhcp
18:51 xarses seens_: we should make a "role" for it to make it more clear in the deployment graph. but IIRC vcenter-compute is simply a task in controller with a condition for vcenter enabled
18:51 obcecado right now i have a vcenter cluster, where nexus 1000v controls port-profiles and  basic conectivity
18:51 obcecado is there a way to integrate it with nova?
18:52 xarses obcecado: I'd doubt it would work with nova-network, you'd probably have more success with neutron
18:53 tatyana joined #fuel-dev
18:53 xarses seens these are the deployment groups that you can use in 6.1 https://github.com/stackforge/fuel-library/blob/stable/6.1/deployment/puppet/deployment_groups/tasks.yaml
18:54 xarses in 7.0 (master) we have one for compute-vmware https://github.com/stackforge/fuel-library/blob/master/deployment/puppet/deployment_groups/tasks.yaml#L73
18:55 obcecado heh, there are modules for nexus 1000v integration with kvm, not vcenter
18:55 xarses you can see the 6.1 task https://github.com/stackforge/fuel-library/blob/stable/6.1/deployment/puppet/osnailyfacter/modular/vmware/tasks.yaml#L1
18:56 obcecado at least on my 1min google query

19:11 seens_ <@xarses> one help
19:12 seens_ https://github.com/stackforge/fuel-library/blob/master/deployment/puppet/deployment_groups/tasks.yaml#L73 , according to this document
19:14 seens_ <@xarses>  if i give one condition in tasks.yaml file like "condition: "settings:common.libvirt_type.value == 'kvm' or settings:common.libvirt_type.value == 'qemu'""
19:15 seens_ so the tasks will run only on kvm or qemu based compute node?
19:16 xarses you only need to use the group compute if you want it to run on a kvm/qemu compute node
19:16 xarses see https://github.com/stackforge/fuel-library/blob/stable/6.1/deployment/puppet/deployment_groups/tasks.yaml#L64
19:16 xarses and
19:17 seens_ <@xarses> ok, in tasks.yaml i need to make role as compute, so my scripts will run only on kvm/qemu node
19:17 xarses https://github.com/stackforge/fuel-library/blob/master/deployment/puppet/osnailyfacter/modular/roles/tasks.yaml#L12
19:17 xarses not role, group
19:17 xarses `groups` even
19:18 xarses group will be more accurate, role will work though
19:19 xarses because multiple groups could be assigned to 1 role
19:19 seens_ <@xarses>  thank you very much
