00:35 jaypipes rmoe, xarses: around? quick question... where can I find the default settings that are written to the [keystone_authtoken] sections of the various OpenStack API service configuration files?
00:38 jaypipes rmoe, xarses: I was looking here: https://github.com/stackforge/fuel-library/blob/master/deployment/puppet/nova/manifests/api.pp#L34-L40
00:39 jaypipes but all the defaults are set to "false" for some reason... was wondering where the values for those variables get set.
00:41 rmoe unfortunately I have no idea, definitely a question for xarses
00:41 jaypipes rmoe: ok, thanks though! :)
00:54 lawrancejing joined #fuel-dev
01:00 xarses jaypipes: more or less randomly everywhere
01:01 xarses appears to mostly be in ::<module>::<module> (cinder/manifests/cinder.pp)
01:02 xarses some of them are in api.pp too
01:03 xarses oh, where they are set from...
01:04 jaypipes xarses: right...
01:04 xarses openstack/manifests and before that osnailfacter/modular
01:09 jaypipes xarses: sorry, I'm still looking for where the auth_uri for the identity/authentication endpoint is set (looking for the version in the URI actually)...
01:09 jaypipes xarses: how do I interpret what this is? https://github.com/stackforge/fuel-library/blob/master/deployment/puppet/openstack/manifests/nova/controller.pp#L336
01:11 jaypipes xarses: also... what am I missing about this... where is the configuration template content written if it isn't in this template? https://github.com/stackforge/fuel-library/blob/master/deployment/puppet/openstack/templates/10-nova.conf.erb
01:12 xarses first entry point will be https://github.com/stackforge/fuel-library/blob/master/deployment/puppet/osnailyfacter/modular/openstack-controller/openstack-controller.pp
01:12 xarses before that, values are in hiera / astute.yaml
01:12 xarses which comes from nailgun
01:12 xarses if that's not complicated enough
01:13 xarses things in openstack might not all be used
01:16 aglarendil jaypipes: you want to know where it gets set or what the values are?
01:16 jaypipes aglarendil: both :)
01:17 aglarendil it is kinda mess with puppet openstack modules
01:17 jaypipes aglarendil: I'd like to know where I can find our default MOS settings for things like keystone auth_uri value.\
01:17 jaypipes aglarendil: yes, that would be an understatement :)
01:17 aglarendil but these are finally set in nova::init and nova::api classes
01:19 jaypipes aglarendil: where are the hiera values set for the MOS default configuration?
01:19 aglarendil so far it starts with granular task for controller tgen goes ti openstack controller class
01:19 aglarendil there is one file astute.yaml
01:20 aglarendil it is the top of hueea hierarchy
01:20 aglarendil hiera
01:20 jaypipes I thought Chef was bad about this stuff, but at least you can define defaults for this kind of thing in a single place... like I did for the upstream cookbooks: https://github.com/openstack/cookbook-openstack-common/blob/master/attributes/default.rb#L217-L230
01:20 aglarendil then we generate another file called globals.yaml
01:20 sylwesterB joined #fuel-dev
01:20 jaypipes aglarendil: that astute.yaml file... where does it live?
01:21 aglarendil it contains some useful variables
01:21 aglarendil /etc/fuel
01:22 jaypipes aglarendil: no, I'm asking where in the source repositories do we keep the default values for these settings for our stock Mirantis OpenStack + Fuel installation.
01:22 aglarendil default value is https://management vip:5000/v2.0
01:22 jaypipes aglarendil: and where is that set in our code repositories somewhere?
01:23 jaypipes aglarendil: see the link I just pasted above to the Chef cookbook... I'm looking for something similar for the MOS/Fuel defaults.
01:24 jaypipes aglarendil: for instance: https://github.com/openstack/cookbook-openstack-common/blob/master/attributes/default.rb#L528-L530
01:28 aglarendil should be openstack-controller granular task
01:28 aglarendil ask Ivan Berezovskiy about this - tgey did lots of refactoring
01:28 aglarendil i am from my phone right now
01:29 jaypipes sure, no worries
01:29 aglarendil not very comfortable with parsing github
01:29 aglarendil and it is late night in Europe - I am just accidentally online
01:30 aglarendil but the question you raised is very legitimate
01:30 jaypipes fair enough, not a prob aglarendil
01:30 aglarendil hope I will be the PTL and conduct several webinars)
01:48 angdraug you don't have to be PTL to conduct webinars )

13:42 rmoe hi all, can somebody help me understand why CI for this change https://review.openstack.org/#/c/225941/ is failing?
13:42 rmoe I see an error "Timeout waiting for host '10.109.6.1' status to become 'up' after 60 seconds!" and some corosync issues that come after it but I don't understand why they happen
13:43 rmoe I've applied this patch set to my local env and deployments are successful so I'm at a loss

14:39 mwhahaha rmoe: i think it needed a rebase the error i saw was for crm
14:39 mwhahaha so i rebased it for you
15:16 dims_ joined #fuel-dev
15:58 rmoe mwhahaha: doesn't look like that was the issue
15:58 mwhahaha k
15:58 rmoe I built a custom ISO earlier this morning that I'll test
15:59 mwhahaha it's failing on the cluster/health task
15:59 mwhahaha but i'm not sure why since that's already been merged and passed CI and i don't think your change touches any of that
16:00 rmoe where do you see that?
16:00 mwhahaha https://ci.fuel-infra.org/job/fuellib_review_pkgs_master_node/4730/artifact/logs/4730/fail_error_deploy_neutron_tun-fuel-snapshot-2015-09-30_15-40-58.tar.xz.filtered.log
16:00 mwhahaha there is also something about p_conntrackd as well
16:00 rmoe if you go up further form the cluster health task there is a failure
16:01 rmoe Timeout waiting for host '10.109.6.1' status to become 'up' after 60 seconds!
16:01 rmoe or is that part of that task?
16:01 mwhahaha no
16:01 mwhahaha that's just netconfig
16:01 mwhahaha but that got rerun
16:01 mwhahaha and worked the 2nd time
16:01 rmoe oh ok, I missed that
16:01 mwhahaha and cluster health got rerun and worked as well
16:02 mwhahaha so it must be the p_conntrackd issue
16:02 mwhahaha you touched that file didn't you?
16:02 rmoe yes
16:02 rmoe and at first it failed in my environment because the XML wasn't valid, but never with that particular error
16:02 rmoe but the file from patch set 5 was used in multiple deployments and they all worked

17:00 mwhahaha rmoe: did you figure it out? the snap shot points to 2015-09-30T15:40:35.564008+00:00 debug:  (Puppet::Type::Cs_resource::ProviderCrm) ERROR: p_conntrackd: parameter bridge does not exist
17:00 rmoe I'm deploying an env from the custom ISO now and I'll dig into it
17:01 rmoe when I searched for that error message I just found mailing list posts talking about invalid XML in the meta-data (IIRC)
17:01 rmoe but I've pulled out the XML and validated it and it's fine, so I don't think that's the issue
17:01 rmoe but that was the only thing about that script I changed
17:02 mwhahaha it's weird how it worked for the neutron_vlan_ha task but not the master_node
17:02 mwhahaha i didn't think the master node used to do a deployment
17:02 mwhahaha i wonder if they changed the ci job
17:02 * mwhahaha pokes bookwar

17:06 mwhahaha oh i guess it has since Jul 10th
17:08 mwhahaha seems like a CI thing like it's not getting the updated file or something
17:09 mwhahaha where you're attempting to set the bridge but since it's the old conntrackd file it doesn't have it
17:09 rmoe ah, yes, that would do it
17:09 rmoe attempting to set a parameter that's not in meta-data will break things
17:10 mwhahaha go throw things at the infra folks :D
17:10 rmoe ok, thanks for your help
