10:01 topochan hi, I have a question, is there any support to use bonding with nova-network using fuel? I read the documentation and I see only suport in the gui for neutron but I can not find if the cli supports nova-network

10:05 sbartel hello
10:05 sbartel i have got an error when trying to update quotas on an HA env deployed on ubuntu
10:05 sbartel is there a known issue about it?
10:09 topochan sbartel: quotas are disabled by default, did you turn on in the setting tab?
10:13 sbartel no :(
10:13 sbartel anyway to activate it after the deployment?
10:14 topochan I think you can tunr on by hand, change the driver in nova config file and then sync the database
10:15 topochan I don’t remember the full process by hand, another way it’s reset the enviroment and redeploy
10:16 sbartel ok thanks
10:17 topochan good luck

10:22 mihgen topochan: no Linux bonding supported in 4.1
10:22 mihgen it's in progress for 5.0 though
10:23 topochan thanks

10:27 mihgen topochan: there is blueprint about it here: https://blueprints.launchpad.net/fuel/+spec/linux-bonding
10:27 mihgen I'm not sure though about support of bonding in nova-network mode
10:28 mihgen I'm curious do you have any specific reason to use nova-network, not neutron?
10:50 piersdd joined #fuel
10:51 piersdd hi evg, the NICs are fine thankyou.  Probably always were.  Issue was most likley a PEBKAC.
10:52 piersdd problem now is [10503] Timeout of deployment is exceeded. AND MCollective call failed in agent 'net_probe', method 'start_frame_listeners', failed nodes:
10:52 piersdd ID: 18 - Reason: Transport endpoint is not connected
10:59 piersdd again, probably a PEBKAC
11:04 anotchenko joined #fuel
11:09 mihgen piersdd: it's likely means that your 18th node is unavailable for some reason
11:11 piersdd ok, thanks mihgen.  After a failed deployment, is it usual to lose IP to the nodes on the admin network?
11:11 piersdd (manager) Cannot update interfaces: Cannot find interface with ip which includes to admin subnet "208-Supermicro-RU4 (9F:4C) (id=35, mac=c2:53:8a:ad:4c:4d)

11:46 topochan mihgen: the reason to use nova-network it’s related with some issues with performance, and how in fuel it’s done the HA for neutron agents
11:48 topochan and thanks for the blueprint link

15:08 saibarspeis Do any of you guys experience fails on br-ex bridge ?
15:08 saibarspeis I mean I see the packets in eth1 (where br-ex is binded) but nothing on the bridge itself
15:08 saibarspeis And it worked 5 minutes ago
15:08 saibarspeis My cluster is neutron with gre segmentation
15:08 saibarspeis My Interfaces are all in access mode (so no vlan tags)
15:09 saibarspeis My whole environment (Fuel + Controller01 and Compute01) are VM's in an esxi
15:09 saibarspeis Because we are trying to develop for the openstack interface

15:30 topochan saibarspeis: it looks that you not configured the virtual switch to get promiscous packets
15:32 topochan check http://kb.vmware.com/selfservice/microsites/search.do?language=en_US&cmd=displayKC&externalId=1004099

15:32 saibarspeis topochan: My portgroups are in fact promisc
15:33 saibarspeis I've set them last week after deploying and losing connectivity to the nodes
15:33 saibarspeis So this bridge I've already passed
15:33 saibarspeis Now everything deploys fine and they even work for periods of time
15:33 saibarspeis For example an environment called DEV01 (controller + compute) works and I can see the openstack dashboard and browse it
15:34 saibarspeis After 10 minutes it goes away, FUEL sais the node is operational
15:34 saibarspeis But I can't access it from outside
15:34 saibarspeis I've telnet port 80 of the controller node from the router in the vmware platform and it does not work
15:34 saibarspeis tcpdump on br-ext does not see any packets (not even icmp)
15:34 saibarspeis But eth1 (which br-ext is bound to) does see everything
15:35 saibarspeis My guess is something in the bridge setup inside the nodes goes bananas
15:35 topochan uhmmmm maybe its related with openvswitch
15:37 saibarspeis It's strange because I have three environments now
15:37 saibarspeis And they work from time to time
15:37 saibarspeis Helthchecks from FUEL seem 80% green
15:37 saibarspeis (storage fails because we have none)
15:39 topochan networking isuses with neutron are hard to catch, look in openvsitch logs, use openvsitch flow tools to look where the packets are sending and check again vswitch options (not only portgroups). or maybe its something related with GRE (firewalled? I ‘ve never used)
