17:22 crshman Is there supposed to be a DHCP server on the public network that hands out IPs? Is that the job of the router VM?

18:22 xarses crshman: no
18:22 crshman xarses: How do instances get their public addresses associated with them?
18:22 xarses usually you assign them to the private interface and then add a floating-ip from the public side
18:23 xarses if you want to use the public network then you will have to set up a dhcp server to serve the scope excluding what is used by the nodes and floating-range
18:24 crshman xarses: In the fuel setup there are settings for "Public" at the top and then in the Neutron L3 Configuration at the bottom there is a "Floating IP Range" that must be within the Public range
18:24 crshman Given what you just mentioned, do I map the entire public range to "Floating IP Range"?
18:26 xarses no, range given in the public range is used to assign address to the nodes in the cluster, the floating range has to be inclusive of the public network, but isn't supposed to overlap with the floating range
18:27 xarses if you set up a dhcp server on the public network, you have to negate the two ranges (or at least the floating-range, and the used public addresses by the cluster nodes)
18:29 crshman ohhhh gotcha
18:29 crshman That wasn't made overly clear in the documentation, that makes sense though

18:38 xarses you can also add, remove /whatever the floating-range now that you have deployed
