21:04 neophy I have installed Openstack using Fuel 4.1. After installation I got dashboard  URL for both internal and external. I am able to access Dashboard from internet using http://<public_ip:8000>. my Internal URL for Dashboard is http://10.20.0.10:8000 which I can't access from office LAN. To access Dashboard from my office LAN I want to manually configure another NIC. I am trying to configure eth2 NIC but I am not able to get access dashboar
21:07 neophy I want to manually configure another NIC in all my Openstack Node to get access from office LAN. Is it the right way to go?
21:11 neophy any help?
21:21 xarses neophy: fuel's dashboard?
21:21 xarses not say, Horizon dashboard?
21:22 neophy no Openstack dashboard. my Fuel Dashboard url is http:10.20.0.2 and I have configured another interface which works fine
21:23 xarses isn't the dashboard running on port 80?
21:24 neophy @xarses: Sorry. Horizon dashboard accessible through public ip on port 80.
21:26 xarses also, the 10.20.0.x network is used by fuel for Admin (PXE) traffic, its not really expected to be route-able.
21:26 xarses In many caeses the expecation is that the network already routes whichever networks you expect
21:27 xarses if you put management on a network that you can route into it usually works. You may need to add additional routes to the controllers (and computes if using nova networks) to get it to return traffic on interfaces other than public
21:28 xarses I commonly see "public" used on an internal network, and then actual Internet addresses are handled separately
21:33 neophy @xarses: right now I can access my openstack environment from internet(out of my office LAN). How to add additional routes to the controllers?
21:34 xarses if you know the route super/subnet(s) you can just ip route add <network> via <gateway>
21:34 xarses (syntax from memory, may be off)
21:35 xarses otherwise if you need to give the interface a default return route, then you would have to create a route policy and a route rule to check the interface
21:36 xarses you will also need to add the changes into the interface management scripts so that they are run on reboot
21:57 neophy @xarses: ip route add 10.209.xxx.xx/xx via 10.209.xxx.1 dev eth2?
21:58 xarses neophy: looks right
21:58 neophy after that I have to properly configure /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-eth2 right?
22:07 xarses CentOS then?
22:11 neophy Yes. It is ContOS
22:12 neophy @xarses: running ip route add 10.209.xxx.xx via 10.209.xxx.1 dev eth2. return  RTNETLINK answers: No such process
22:13 neophy there is no rule added in # ip route show output
22:30 TVR_ so... if the net04_ext is created with the wrong cidr.. (used a /24 when I needed to be a /26) is there a way to edit it? UI won't let that part be edited
