15:21 designated MiroslavAnashkin, so there will be no soft raid support in 5.0?
15:22 tim|mint hi all, I'd like to test-drive fuel, is it possible to run it from within virtualbox (or kvm or something)?
15:23 designated tim|mint, there are instructions on how to run it using virtualbox, in fact they have scripts.  software.mirantis.com/quick-start
15:23 holser Hi, tim|mint. It’s possible to use virtualbox for testing or development purposes
15:23 tim|mint awesome, thx!
15:26 holser tim|mint, here is virtualbox scripts we use https://github.com/stackforge/fuel-main/tree/master/virtualbox
15:26 holser *scripts for virtualbox
15:27 tim|mint holser: ah thx, was looking for a working download button on the other link... seems to keep sending me to the main page :S
15:29 tim|mint ooo docker scripts as well :)
15:32 tim|mint is 12.04 still the recommended ubuntu version to use?
15:33 holser You may use any version as host (should be supported by VirtualBox).
15:33 tim|mint yeah, but i need to create the iso as well
15:34 holser for iso, 12.04 is the best

20:59 tim|mint thx
21:08 tim|mint kinda scary how with 'make iso' the output just stops all of a sudden...
21:08 tim|mint no idea what it's doing :S

21:35 designated i can't get a fuel 5.0 iso to build
21:44 xarses I beleave that you have to manually build the containers first
21:44 designated looks like 5.0 was just released anyway.
21:44 designated i'm downloading it
21:44 xarses oh, ya it should be
21:45 designated even though just earlier, a mirantis employee told me it was delayed until friday.
21:45 xarses Oops
21:46 gleam when is 5.1 coming? :)
21:48 designated 5.1 is already out there if you can get the iso to build.
21:48 designated doubt it's stable though
21:49 designated I'm digging through the documentation now to see if i can figure out a way to do software raid with 5.0.  I was told it doesn't support it natively but I would imagine you can modify the preseed for ubuntu deployment to do mdadm.
21:49 xarses there are tags for 5.1 yes, but its just the "master" branch
21:49 designated unless anyone knows off the top of their head.
21:50 xarses designated: you would end up creating a custom cobbler template
21:50 xarses designated: http://<fuel-master-addr>:80/cobbler_web
21:50 xarses cobbler:cobbler
21:51 designated xarses, I'll have to give it a shot.
21:51 xarses if you want all nodes, change the whole ubuntu template
21:52 designated i just want to deploy soft raid on my compute nodes because I'm running dual SSDs.
21:52 xarses otherwise, you will have to find some more sophisticated way to lay out the nodes
21:52 gleam the advanced networking is the real thing i want to see in 5.1, so hopefully it makes it
21:53 designated advanced networking how?  5.0 should support LAGG and VLAN tagging.
21:53 xarses if you have hardware raid support it's more reliable / performant
21:53 gleam arbitrary networks, including stuff like not needing a public ip for everything..
21:54 xarses you can always help code it ;)
21:54 gleam yeaaaah :)
21:55 xarses https://blueprints.launchpad.net/fuel/+spec/advanced-networking
21:55 gleam yep
21:58 designated hardware raid is another single point of failure.
22:43 obcecado installing 5.0
