00:02 Kupo24z1 xarses: do you know if 'virsh destroy' is the same thing as 'Shut Off' in horizon?
00:17 xarses Kupo24z1: correct. terminate ~= virsh destroy <instance|domain> ; virsh undefine <instance|domain>

01:40 Kupo24z1 sorry, "Shut Off"

08:58 evgeniyl albionandrew, regarding to filed tests http://pastebin.com/JKwCgvD8 , the reason why you got this error is you use wrong version of docker-py, try to run `pip install -r test-requirements.txt` to install right version https://github.com/stackforge/fuel-web/blob/master/fuel_upgrade_system/fuel_upgrade/test-requirements.txt , but anyway, right now it should
08:58 evgeniyl not prevent you to build the new iso.

12:49 gnstack does anyone know when fuel 5.0.1 will be released? as 5.0 has a few bugs, right?
13:02 MiroslavAnashkin 5.0.1 is expected closer to the end of June

14:36 georgem2 can I deploy the Neutron role with Fuel 5.0 ? I only see controller, compute, storage as possible roles

14:41 MiroslavAnashkin I think - no. Neutron is installed on every controller in HA mode.

14:43 georgem2 MiroslavAnashkin:ok, second question: how can I obtain credentials to log in the nodes (console or ssh)?
14:44 georgem2 MiroslavAnashkin:I'm deploying on Ubuntu
14:45 jaypipes joined #fuel
14:51 MiroslavAnashkin Nodes have the same default root/r00tme creds, if you have not changed it before deployment. Simply run `ssh <node name>` or `ssh <node IP address>` from master node, auth by key is enabled by default.
14:58 georgem2 MiroslavAnashkin:cool, thanks

16:40 albionandrew christopheraedo: I think I made it through now on the last step   --> Missing Dependency: libcurl = 7.19.7-37.el6_4 is needed by package curl-7.19.7-37.el6_4.x86_64 (mirror)
16:40 albionandrew christopheraedo: I’m going to try and resolve then run again
16:56 albionandrew christopheraedo: no repos for yum http://pastebin.com/K9vYPNkP
16:56 albionandrew Do I add a specific repo ?
16:56 albionandrew repolist: 0
16:59 xarses joined #fuel
17:00 christopheraedo Interesting, that's an odd one I haven't seen before.  It should grab that package on it's own, as it'll be hosted on the fuel ISO since during deployment, the nodes pull everything from fuel master.
17:02 christopheraedo I would try "make iso" one more time, it should pick up mostly where it left off - if you get that same error again, then we can dig in to it
17:03 albionandrew christopheraedo: That is the second time .. The stuff above 3.4 went through and passed all the tests. The docker section was not quite as in the documentation but it showed as running  with “sudo docker run -i -t ubuntu /bin/bash”
17:05 christopheraedo ok - anyone else seen this one before?  I've had depency problems previously but it was always due to bad internet connection, and a make clean; make iso fixed it (but at the expense of re-downloading everything)
17:07 albionandrew I don’t know a whole lot about ubuntu but “ls -l /etc/yum/repos.d/ total 0” I wonder if that is this specific problem?
17:08 christopheraedo nope, that's normal actually
17:09 albionandrew christopheraedo: I did not do step 7 or 8 ?.. which is correct besides I’m on step 6 http://docs.mirantis.com/fuel-dev/develop/env.html
17:10 christopheraedo yep that's fine, you'll be done at step 6 for this pass (though if memory serves, you're building custom ISO because you need to incorporate a patch - but once your dev environment can build the ISO reliably we can tackle patch next)
17:11 christopheraedo What do you get for "ls -la local_mirror/centos/os/x86_64/Packages/|wc"
17:11 albionandrew christopheraedo: ls -la local_mirror/centos/os/x86_64/Packages/|wc
17:11 albionandrew 1230   11063  127216
17:12 christopheraedo very strange - seems like that really is the ONLY missing rpm, should be 1231 if my environment is a good example.
17:12 albionandrew christopheraedo: funny
17:12 christopheraedo How long did it take to get to this point after make deep_clean?
17:13 christopheraedo (mostly trying to judge whether or not saying "make deep_clean; make iso" is painless, or will cost you a few hours)
17:14 albionandrew christopheraedo: it didn’t seem to take that long. 2 mins?
17:14 albionandrew I did that last night and stopped at the docker section
17:14 albionandrew started with the docker stuff this morning
17:15 albionandrew do you want me to try the  "make deep_clean; make iso" now ?
17:18 christopheraedo I would try make deep_clean and then make iso, yeah...
17:19 christopheraedo it'll take longer than 2 minutes I predict (it's going to grab the packages again) but it's the safest move right now
17:22 albionandrew christopheraedo: OK I’ll try that now. Thanks
17:30 albionandrew christopheraedo: the make iso is running but I see Missing Dependency: libcurl = 7.19.7-37.el6_4 is needed by package curl-7.19.7-37.el6_4.x86_64 (proprietary) in the output again
17:33 christopheraedo that's really odd - can anyone here chime in on the contents of the mirantis repos the make iso process relies on?
17:35 Kupo24z1 MiroslavAnashkin: xarses: do you know the 'correct' way to upgrade controller nodes with fuel (5.0 ->5.1 or a major revision)
17:36 MiroslavAnashkin We - don't, but we working on it.
17:44 Kupo24z1 MiroslavAnashkin: you think it would be ready for 5.1?

17:47 Kupo24z1 MiroslavAnashkin: looks like its essential to 5.1 https://blueprints.launchpad.net/fuel/+spec/fuel-upgrade
17:48 Kupo24z1 will that upgrade controller/compute nodes or just fuel?
17:51 albionandrew MiroslavAnashkin: xarses http://pastebin.com/tszW35pZ Any ideas?

18:01 albionandrew MiroslavAnashkin: xarses christopheraedo Do you think it would me reasonable to download the rpm manually and put it in ../fuel-main/local_mirror/centos/os/x86_64/Packages/ ?
18:02 vkozhukalov joined #fuel
18:05 derrickb Networking question.. Using Fuel 5.0, default GRE network... I define my public network as 192.168.67.0/24 with Public IP 192.168.67.2-126 and floating between 130-254.. When I bring up an instance with an interface defined on the external network, shouldn't the IP assiged from Horizon be passed through to the instance? There is no internal subnet (192.168.111.0/24) associated with this instance...
18:05 derrickb Looking on the controller server there is only one instance of dhcrelay running for the 192.168.111.0/24 network.
18:09 albionandrew MiroslavAnashkin: xarses christopheraedo  I have that file downloaded to fuel-main/local_mirror/centos/os/x86_64/Packages/ and it still gives the exact same error.
18:11 xarses albionandrew: what is your PRODUCT_VERSION in config.mk?
18:14 albionandrew xarses: PRODUCT_VERSION:=5.0
18:14 xarses odd, package is on the repo http://fuel-repository.mirantis.com/fwm/5.0/centos/os/x86_64/Packages/
18:15 albionandrew I know thats where I pulled it from and manually put it in the folder mentioned above
18:16 albionandrew xarses christopheraedo: looked in his repo and I was one file different from his, and I gues that was the missing file
18:17 xarses derrickb: if you assign the instance to net04_ext then there is no dhcp on the network and it wont get an address automatically. You would usually set up an instance on net04 and then assign a 'floating ip' to the node which should plumb correctly.
18:18 albionandrew xarses you can see here http://pastebin.com/2KqRy2JF that I now have the file where I thinks it needs to be and its still giving the same error.
18:19 derrickb xarses: Just found that... could that be an option in the Fuel Network setup to enable the DHCP on the Public settings?
18:20 albionandrew xarses I just changed the perms so its the same as the other libcurl but same error.
18:23 xarses derrickb: you can enable it after deployment, but it isn't currently an option because it leads to issues if there are other dhcp servers on the network (which we've seen others run into). Additionally, it's not usually an expected use case, usually you want them assigned as floating IP because it allows for the security group to protect access to the network (IE iptables rules).
18:30 derrickb Yeah... that would be an issue... I'll keep it in mind... :) thanks!
18:31 vkozhukalov left #fuel
18:34 xarses derrickb: If you have a use case for it, I'd love to hear it. Some times we assume wrongly what people expect.
18:36 albionandrew xarses any idea how to proceed?
18:39 derrickb I know people can be stupid, but if you are using GRE/VLAN for network segregation, it may be a good option. For example, if you create an instance with external interfaces only (some voip servers we have would do that) and don't have an internal network attached, normally there isn't a way to connect to the image as your normal connection method is through the key file. I.E. the Centos RDO image.. no root password. Yes you can go in and set it up from
18:39 derrickb the neutron interface, but if network segregation is enabled, and you're configuring from the "initial" setup in Fuel, it is functionality that I would expect to be enabled.

23:41 Kupo24z1 xarses: you know if anything is being done with LBaaS right now from Mirantis? https://wiki.openstack.org/wiki/Neutron/LBaaS
23:43 xarses Kupo24z1: We won't be doing anything with it out of the box for 5.1; However I intend to ensure that the packages are present so that it is easier to work with if desired.
23:43 xarses same with FWaaS
23:44 Kupo24z1 Forgive me, I'm a bit behind on their progress. Are they still not usable from an API/CLI standpoint or is the community just waiting on Horizon development?
23:46 xarses AFAIK LBaaS should work from the API/CLI standpoint, the haproxy driver is supposed to be at feature parity with a AWS LB. The F5 LTM driver is supposedly quite feature full as well. I've worked with neither directly so its all based from my second hand knowledge
23:48 Kupo24z1 With 5.1 would anything need to be installed or configured to enable these two services?
23:49 xarses you would need to install neutron-?-lbaas package and configure it
23:49 xarses if ubuntu
23:49 xarses if centos, it's installed already in 5.0
23:49 Kupo24z1 ah okay, that works then
23:49 Kupo24z1 Thanks for the info
23:50 Kupo24z1 though I am a bit confused on the 5.1 Fuel upgrade blueprint, its set to only upgrade fuel and not the underlying compute/controller nodes correct?
23:50 xarses for ubuntu, the package isn't included with 5.0, you should be able to say use the one from ubuntu cloud-arch
23:51 xarses its only regarding upgrading fuel
23:51 Kupo24z1 is there any method for ugprading say from 5.1 to 6.0 icehouse -> juno?
23:51 Kupo24z1 upgrading*
23:52 xarses patching openstack is closer to what you are looking for, but still not what you want. upgrading openstack is targeted for 6.0
23:52 Kupo24z1 What is the accepted practice right now? Setup a 2nd environment then migrate instances?
23:53 xarses we hope to be able to provide upgrade fuel from 5.0 or 5.0.1 -> 5.1 -> 6.0
23:53 xarses and then supporting upgrading from icehouse to juno
23:54 Kupo24z1 I suppose you could just add additional nodes using the 6.0 fuel node which should spawn them in Icehouse
23:54 Kupo24z1 Juno* sorry
23:55 xarses that will be the worst case if juno cant upgrade in a stable, automated way from icehouse (which is a risk)
23:56 Kupo24z1 I'm not too worried about compute nodes since you can live migrate instances around pretty easily, however an HA controller setup that fuel does would be difficult
23:56 xarses yep
23:57 bogdando joined #fuel
23:57 Kupo24z1 If we have a 5.1 cluster setup then upgrade the fuel node to 6.0, (and assuming openstack upgrading is released) could it upgrade it from icehouse to juno?
