10:02 Nikita_Koshikov Hi, can someone point to me - how can I run shell command with arguments from mcollective?
10:02 Nikita_Koshikov mco rpc -v execute_shell_command execute  cmd='uname' //good
10:02 Nikita_Koshikov mco rpc -v execute_shell_command execute  cmd='uname -a’ //bad
10:03 Nikita_Koshikov this is basic fuel setup and non-patched execute_shell_command.rb agent

10:11 mattymo Nikita_Koshikov, fuel 5.0 or 5.1?
10:11 Nikita_Koshikov 5.0
10:11 mattymo I fixed it after release. let me find the change
10:13 mattymo https://review.openstack.org/#/c/96794/
10:13 mattymo you can work aroudn either by patching /etc/dockerctl/functions or just dockerctl shell astute  and then run mco locally there
10:13 mattymo around*
10:17 Nikita_Koshikov mattymo: Thanks!
10:17 mattymo no problem
10:24 Nikita_Koshikov mattymo: seemed this patch doesn’t fix the origianal problem
10:27 mattymo the problem is quotes handling with dockerctl shell
10:28 mattymo mco on Fuel Master is an alias for dockerctl astute mco
10:28 mattymo oops dockerctl shell astute mco
10:31 Nikita_Koshikov you right - I have tried within wrong container - my bad. Inside astute - works for me
10:31 Nikita_Koshikov thatnks again

13:32 Guest74610 hi there, we need some advice on how to setup a high available cluster with a possiblity of high io
13:32 odyssey4me joined #fuel
13:32 Guest74610 we just tried a ceph backend with some ssd but max io is about 300 iops (single thread, 4K) this relates to the latency
13:33 mattymo 10g interfaces helps for sure
13:33 mattymo and jumbo frames
13:33 Guest74610 max throughput is not an issue
13:34 Guest74610 is just the mysql database performance which is really single threaded 4k block writing (or even 1k blok write)
13:36 Guest74610 (ow and we have 10G)
13:37 Guest74610 we also tried ssd journalling which also didn't help
13:41 sikor_sxe joined #fuel
13:43 sikor_sxe hello there, we are trying to evaluate mirantis and failed miserably so far. we have a 3 node setup. (Fuel Master, Controller, Compute/Storage), each node has 2 NICs available, is this even possible?
13:43 Guest74610 should be possible if you use vlan tagging
13:44 sikor_sxe do we need a dedicated switch for that?
13:44 TVR_ with vlan tagging.. and choosing the neutron with gre it is completely possible and works
13:44 Guest74610 fuel node can't use tagging (correct me if im wrong) so it first interface should be in admin network, second in public
13:44 TVR_ the switch the NIC's connect to needs to be able to do layer 2
13:45 TVR_ yes.. correct
13:45 TVR_ fuel connect to default vlan.. nic 1 on other boxes default vlan for PXE and floaters...
13:46 TVR_ nic 2 has storage and management both vlan tagged
13:46 TVR_ fuel only needs 1 nic connected to the switch
13:47 MiroslavAnashkin Guest74610: To decrease latency you probably have to switch network to Infiniband or similar hardware. You may also set up your MySQL replication as Master-Slave+DRBD and give dedicated 10G network connection to sync data between MySQL master and slaves.
13:48 sikor_sxe TVR_: and to be able to use a single switch for all networking between the nodes it would need to support layer 2?
13:49 TVR_ yes.. because you need some ports (the ones connected to nic 2) to have and support at least 2 vlans.. while the other ports (the ones the nic 1 and the fuel nic 1 connect to) simply have the default vlan (so left default)
13:49 TVR_ what switch do you have?
13:50 sikor_sxe right now we are using some hp comodity thing
13:51 sikor_sxe we might use a better switch, though

17:53 Kupo24z evgeniyl: MiroslavAnashkin: Does anyone know if the command line interface for fuel-upgrade is avalible in the 5.0 ISO? I'm not seeing 'fuel_upgrade' anywhere in the system
18:04 e0ne joined #fuel
18:23 e0ne joined #fuel
18:23 MiroslavAnashkin fuel upgrade script is part of upgrade tarball.
18:25 Kupo24z MiroslavAnashkin: You mean a tarball of the new fuel release? eg 5.0.1 would have its own upgrade CLI?
18:25 MiroslavAnashkin Yep.
18:26 MiroslavAnashkin Not the CLI but migration script.
18:26 Kupo24z MiroslavAnashkin: This will be avalible somewhere for the public to download when its released i assume?
18:26 MiroslavAnashkin It will be available alongside with ISO
18:26 Kupo24z MiroslavAnashkin: Ok thanks
19:24 Kupo24z xarses: do you know offhand if its possible to alter the port speed of virtio interfaces setup in VM's? we are trying to limit down to 100mb
19:24 xarses not off hand
19:24 xarses but you can use tc to do it inside the instance
20:10 AndreyDanin joined #fuel
21:04 Kupo24z Weird, im getting only 46.9K/s on uploads from an instance but downloads i get 1Gbps easy
21:04 Kupo24z fresh fuel deployment as well
21:06 Kupo24z its using model type='virtio' too
