14:14 wrale on 5.0.1, my fuel node's /etc/fuel/astute.conf shows the dns settings i input, but the cobbler docker container's resolv.conf still contains domain.tld.. is this a bug?
14:14 wrale also, the cobbler dnsmasq seems to be refusing connections
14:28 taj joined #fuel
14:31 wrale reinstalling... so, on the grub line edit screen for fuel, is it okay to set dns1 to a non-admin network IP, so long as the fuel node has a path to it?  in my case the fuel node has a NAT-to-Public interface in addition to the admin NIC.

16:59 wrale xarses: can you imagine any good reason for nslookup on fuel node to produce failure "REFUSED"?
16:59 wrale i rebuilt from scratch and problem is persistent.. without even creating an environment
16:59 wrale 5.0.1 as of two days ago
17:00 xarses can you paste the whole message and command line?
17:00 wrale sure thing
17:01 wrale http://paste.openstack.org/show/87153/
17:02 wrale Here is 'docker ps' http://paste.openstack.org/show/87154/
17:05 wrale this is after one reboot (after showmenu stuff), post-install (after waiting an hour for all docker containers to come up).. looks like /etc/resolv.conf was rewritten at second boot time.. i got the refused message both before and after the second reboot
17:05 wrale well, after the red and blue menu, i mean
17:06 wrale the fuel node has three interfaces.. eth0 is admin and static, eth1 is a NAT-to-public and dhcp, and eth2 is static for ipmi network
17:07 wrale the 10.0.2.3 is on the nat-to-public side
17:07 wrale (looking at resolv.conf)
17:17 wrale from inside the cobbler container: http://paste.openstack.org/show/87160/  (seems odd that domain.tld is still in there)
17:17 xarses wrale: I would guess that the cobbler container isn't running dnsmasq correctly, or a IP tables rule is blocking you
17:20 wrale thanks xarses.. i agree.. seems like the policy inside dnsmasq is refusing to me.. i'll look into that with lsof

18:19 wrale Aha! The problem is with using multiple dns servers upstream.. the cobbler /etc/dnsmasq.upstream did 'nameserver dns1,dns2' instead of two lines, one for each server.. big bug

18:24 wrale Do Murano and Celiometer rely on public dns function?  Those health checks failed along with the dns check on my most recent install.
18:25 wrale Hoping they succeed with my pending install now that dns is cleared up

20:57 thehybridtech Afternoon...  So...  I am giving Mirantis 5 a shot and building my OpenStack environment on M610s...  When I bootstrap, my bnx2 interfaces do not start and thus they do not connect.  When I attempt to force them from the bootstrap image I get cannot load firmware file bnx2/bnx2-mips-09-6.2.1b.fw.  Any ideas?
20:59 e0ne joined #fuel
21:03 thehybridtech I fixed it temporarily by cp bnx2-mips-09-6.2.1a.fw to bnx2-mips-09-6.2.1b.fw but I can't think this is a good fix

21:06 loth MiroslavAnashkin xarses Where are swift's logs stored in a ceph/radosgw swift deployment? I'm getting '405 Method Not Allowed' when setting metadata: swift post -m "Color:Blue" and need to know if its supported
21:08 xarses kupo24z: radosgw is being run by apache, so you can start there. The rados logs will then be described in /etc/ceph/ceph.conf
21:08 xarses in the radosgw section
21:09 kupo24z my radosgw log is 0 bytes, is that right? '-rwxr-xr-x  1 www-data www-data    0 Jul 18 07:35 radosgw.log'
21:12 kupo24z nvm, restarted it and it has data now
21:13 kupo24z before i dive further into it xarses: do you know if glance's --copy-from or --location is usable with external swift servers without reconfiguring glance to use swift as a back-end storage? (Pull image file from swift then save locally to RBD storage)
21:14 xarses the last time i tested, --location in the glance client didn't work right, especially when uploading to rbd
21:16 kupo24z I tried their example in the docs and i get malformed URL and errors stating i need to setup glance-api.conf for swift backend storage but i think its a wrong error message
21:16 kupo24z from http://docs.openstack.org/user-guide/content/cli_manage_images.html
21:17 kupo24z however there is 0 information on how it works
21:17 kupo24z I was thinking of trying to do a tempURL if it doesnt support external swift servers, but it doesnt look like the ceph version of swift doesnt do that
21:18 kupo24z s/does/doesnt/
21:21 kupo24z for example: 'ERROR: Could not find swift_store_auth_address in configuration options.' when using it, was going to make a bug but im not sure of its working as intended or not
21:26 kupo24z looks like tempURL is supported with RGW 0.76 and 5.0 installs .67.8
21:26 kupo24z http://tracker.ceph.com/issues/3454
21:26 BillTheKat BillTheKat  we are trying to boot nodes on IBM blades (HS22) - the centos bootstarp OS has an error "cannot load firm file "bnx2x/bnx2x-e1h-7.8.17.0.fw" - this firmware is not in /lib/firmware/bnx2x.  Anyone see this and know how to resolve this?
21:27 e0ne joined #fuel
21:27 rmoe kupo24z: my understanding is that when you use location glance doesn't actually copy the image into glance, it just stores a reference to it. when you use the image in some way it is pulled from "location"
21:28 kupo24z rmoe: correct for --location, but in the docs it mentions --copy-from saves it locally
21:29 andriikolesnikov joined #fuel
21:30 kupo24z rmoe: my goal was to upload an image to swift on one environement, then have other enviornments glance pull that image and save it locally
21:32 kupo24z that way we could distribute images using only the glance API, however it looks like we will need to login to each zone and download it from swift first on the local disk
21:33 e0ne joined #fuel
21:34 rmoe kupo24z: it could also work to set up your swift cluster as a backend in the other glance instances
