02:55 Samos123 I forgot who, but somebody said there is being worked on making the private make iso jenkins job available to public. If so I would really like to try, my make iso environment keeps messing up because of x reasons(Great Firewall, network, environment etc).
02:58 Samos123 specifically can a public user trigger this job: https://github.com/stackforge/fuel-main/blob/master/utils/jenkins/fuel-ci/jenkins-product/jobs/fuel_main_iso.yaml I would like to submit my own parameters such as fuel-main commit

05:23 xarses Samos123: https://wiki.openstack.org/wiki/Fuel#Nightly_builds
05:23 xarses note, they can be unstable
05:43 Samos123 @xarses: Those are built from master, what I am looking for is to customize a nightly build and specify my gerrit bench, that doesn't seem possible with https://fuel-jenkins.mirantis.com/view/ISO/job/publish_fuel_community_iso/ for public users
05:47 xarses Samos123: no, you can't do custom builds with those. You should be able to set up the environment reliably with the  prepare-build-env.sh script, and once the build caches the packages, which I guess you could explode from a recent iso you should't have too many problems packing them in a new iso. As an aside, if all you are looking to change is nailgun or fuel-library is relatively trivial to do so after deployment
05:48 xarses regardless, if you are having problems, please file a launchpad bug and if you still aren't getting anywhere reach out to christopheraedo, angdraug, or myself
05:57 Samos123 ok np changing fuel-main, so will go on with fixing my own make iso environment

08:44 Baboune Fuel 5 problem when creating environment, all nodes indicate ready, completion bar at top right is 100% but the UI remains in that state.  The horizon UI is accessible, VMs can be launched but there seems to be some NW problems when accessing the virtual NW.  Any ideas on how to figure out what is preventing completing the environment installation?

11:33 Baboune @mihgen any ideas on how to recover the UI? Or what/where to look?
11:35 mihgen Baboune: I would look first of all to nailgun logs
11:35 mihgen should be somewhere in /var/log/ of master node
11:35 mihgen try to find folder nailgun there

11:38 ArminderS guys, whats the ETA on fuel 5.0.1
11:39 ArminderS it was supposed to be released on 15/jul and its already almost a month overdue
11:39 mihgen ArminderS: it's under acceptance testing now. If no criticals found - then on Thursday it should go out
11:39 ArminderS great, thanks
11:39 mihgen there was a serious HA issue related to oslo-messaging
11:39 ArminderS and i belive thats been sorted out
11:40 ArminderS believe*
11:40 mihgen basically there was no real failover when you turn off controller )
11:40 mihgen ArminderS: yep, should be, under testing  :)
11:40 ArminderS oh, that would have been nasty
11:40 ArminderS thanks for the quick revert
11:40 ArminderS looks like a busy weekend ahead for me :)
11:41 mihgen yep. 5.1 comes with much more changes to HA, significantly improving everything around it
11:41 mihgen still struggling with bugs in 5.1 though..
11:41 ArminderS is it 5.0.1 or 5.1?
11:41 ArminderS oh right, got it
11:42 ArminderS you are sharing future plans, right for 5.1
11:44 mihgen yep. 5.0.1 is on finishing lane, 5.1 is still under active bug squashing
11:48 Baboune humm since 5.0.1 is so close is it possible to get a link to a build?  There seems to be quite many errors in 5.0
11:52 mihgen Baboune: 5.1 is available outside here https://wiki.openstack.org/wiki/Fuel#Nightly_builds, but not 5.0.1 :(
11:52 mihgen Baboune: but I can make one for youi
11:52 mihgen actually I would ask evg to help me )

22:11 potato_farmer Hi, I am installing Openstack for the first time. How much space does one normally allocate to MongoDB?
22:13 kupo24z potato_farmer: depends on your data usage, for example Ive had a test environment up for 37 days and my mongo usage is 9.4G
22:13 kupo24z however it depends on how many instances you are planning on running
22:14 potato_farmer We are planning 100-200 instances.
22:15 potato_farmer How many instances resulted in 9.4G?
22:22 jaypipes joined #fuel
22:26 xarses and how you are storing your metrics
22:34 kupo24z 'ceilometer resource-list | wc -l' results in 559
22:35 kupo24z There is also a configurable cleanup for it, i cant remember the setting though
22:37 kupo24z https://blueprints.launchpad.net/ceilometer/+spec/db-ttl
22:38 kupo24z time_to_live=
22:39 kupo24z Also i think the default mongo config creates 3x journals at 1gb each
