09:45 klonhjcertusnet Hey All ! If I changed openstack.yaml, how dose the new information work?
09:45 evg anand_ts: hello, in modern version of fuel you can build HA env with only two nodes - compute+controller and the add other controllers letter
09:46 anand_ts evg: I'm using Fuel 5.0. Is that setup enterprise ready?
09:47 evg anand_ts: it's minimum. You can not consider it as a real ha, of course
09:48 anand_ts evg: Okay. Can I get some documents or links for configuring HA with minimal servers.
09:49 merdoc anand_ts: you may look here http://docs.mirantis.com/openstack/fuel/fuel-5.0/pdf/Mirantis-OpenStack-5.0.1-ReferenceArchitecture.pdf
09:50 kaliya klonhjcertusnet: the openstack.yaml in /usr/lib/python2.6/site-packages/nailgun/fixtures ?

12:51 Rajbir But what I  want to know is if I have three controller nodes then what services should be running on which controller node
12:52 Rajbir that's what I want to  find out
12:53 Rajbir As of now, I have a issue with openstack  then I restart all the three controller nodes and this bring everything back to normal
12:53 Rajbir So, if you can guider with  the service restart order that will be great
12:53 Rajbir *guide
12:54 artem_panchenko joined #fuel
12:57 kaliya Rajbir: look into /etc/rc.d/rc3.d, you have the services' starting order
12:57 kaliya Rajbir: but which kind of issue that is fixed by restarting the services?
12:59 Rajbir Thanks for responding
12:59 Rajbir let me explain the exact issue that I'm  facing
13:00 Rajbir For testing purpose, I have created a instance and assigned a public/floating IP to that instance  but it's not working
13:07 MiroslavAnashkin ianunruh: Please describe your Dell R620 in more details - we need CPU and chipset or just exact server model. Additionally, please share the string of kernel parameters, passed to the server, you may find it on the Settings page in Fuel UI. Virtualization enabled is mandatory for OpenStack.
13:07 anand_ts Rajbir: and?
13:09 Rajbir And when I restart the controller nodes it's started to work again
13:09 Rajbir but each time it is not possible to restart the controller nodes
13:09 kaliya Rajbir: which version of Fuel?
13:11 Rajbir 0.2
13:16 Rajbir basically what is happening  is that though I allocate a floating IP to that instance it's still picking up the controller external network Ip instead of the assgined floating IP.
13:17 kaliya Rajbir: we're in 5.0.1 now, are you sure? Please print /etc/fuel/version.yaml
13:17 Rajbir release: "5.0.1"
13:17 Rajbir yes, is release: "5.0.1"
13:18 ianunruh MiroslavAnashkin, evg: It appears to only affect the CentOS bootstrap image
13:18 ianunruh after disabling virtualization, installing ubuntu, and re-enabling virtualization, I had no issues after that
13:18 ianunruh perhaps a difference in kernel version or driver versions?
13:19 Rajbir production: "docker"
13:21 kaliya Rajbir: so you start an instance, assign a floating IP, then it stucks?
13:21 kaliya Rajbir: are you working with the Cirros image?
13:24 Dr_Drache question on fuel networking when someone has a second. since I need to install public network onto an existing network and it fails verification because of DHCP... is this ok?
13:25 dancn joined #fuel
13:36 Rajbir Kaliya, I'm working wiht Centos 6.3 image
13:38 Rajbir yes,  created a instance and assigned a floating IP and then it stucks
13:38 kaliya do you have some relevant log from nova?
13:39 Rajbir checking
13:40 TVR___ so, in AWS, when you need a machine to have multiple elastic IP's, you add an internal IP and the second (or more) elastic IP get's associated to the new internal IP..... I imagine this could work the same with OpenStack..... so how do I add an additional IP (from internal block) to my instance? I imagine there is a nova command for that, though I cannot find it...
13:44 Rajbir there is no errors in nova-all.log file
13:44 Rajbir HTTP/1.1" status: 200
13:44 Rajbir I have just tried to re-assign a floating IP
13:47 Rajbir so basically it's not picking up the ip's from  Floating IP Pool
14:00 kaliya TVR___: neutron or nova-network?
14:00 kaliya Rajbir: do you assign from the web UI?
14:00 TVR___ neutron please..
14:02 Dr_Drache MiroslavAnashkin, are you available?
14:02 Rajbir Kaliya, I have assigned the IP from web UI
14:02 kaliya TVR___: look into nova help floating-ip-associate or nova help add-fixed-ip
14:05 MiroslavAnashkin klonhjcertusnet: Nailgun exists on master node only. The best way is to rebuild ISO with changed Nailgun sources.
14:06 MiroslavAnashkin Dr_Drache: Yes, will be around for the next 30 minutes
14:07 Dr_Drache MiroslavAnashkin, I am attempting to deploy, running the networking verification. I was leaving the public network default as I will be using the created one once deployed (as instructed)
14:07 Dr_Drache but, I still get this error (as expected) : http://i.imgur.com/XGxU57A.png
14:07 Dr_Drache is that safe to ignore?
14:08 Dr_Drache (it shows up, even if I choose VLAN for the default public)
14:12 MiroslavAnashkin Dr_Drache: Verification definitely should fail if there is DHCP. And even deployment may fail.
14:13 MiroslavAnashkin Rajbir: Have you assigned external network to the instance in scope of instance creation sequence? Floating IPs are all in the external net.
14:14 Rajbir yeah, the floating IP's are in  the external net
14:16 Rajbir 172.18.0.12 >> external IP
14:17 Rajbir it works fine as soon as I  restart all  the 3 controller nodes in sequence
14:18 Dr_Drache MiroslavAnashkin, then how is this possible? I can't create a neutron network like you instructed to tie into the public network,  without deployment
14:28 MiroslavAnashkin TVR___: there is --nic flag in Neutron to assign multiple networks to the instance http://docs.openstack.org/grizzly/openstack-compute/admin/content/using-multi-nics.html
14:29 MiroslavAnashkin Dr_Drache: please try to deploy a couple of nodes, not sure, will it fail or not.

17:51 Rajbir Yes, I've tried assigning multiple IP addresses to the instance
17:52 Rajbir but what is happening is every new IP that I  add replace the eth0 IP
17:52 MiroslavAnashkin Rajbir: Ah, then here is your case http://docs.openstack.org/grizzly/openstack-compute/admin/content/using-multi-nics.html
17:53 dhblaz joined #fuel
17:53 Rajbir thanks, let me check and then confirm
17:57 Rajbir MiroslavAnashkin, I'm not using 2 Nic for a instance
17:58 Rajbir I'm using two  networks one for private network and one for public network
17:59 Rajbir private network [172.18.0.12] public [208.*.*.*]
17:59 stamak joined #fuel
18:00 MiroslavAnashkin Rajbir: Fixed IP is added to the instance by default. It is Floating IP you want to add. Please use `nova add-floating-ip` command
18:00 Rajbir with  nova add-fixed-ip I'm assigning 172.18.0.x ip to  instance and then assigning a floating IP from  208.x.x.x to that instance
18:01 Rajbir Yes, basically I'm trying to add multiple fixed IP's and then want to  assign floating IP's
18:02 Rajbir is it possible ?
18:02 Rajbir I'm new to  this openstack  thing so  not sure
18:02 HeOS joined #fuel
18:03 MiroslavAnashkin Rajbir: No. Both IP are assigned with DHCP - so it is possible to assign single IP per network per NIC. Either you have to add one more virtual network or add more NICs to the instance.
18:04 Rajbir Okay, so how do I add one more virtual network  ?
18:04 jpf joined #fuel
18:06 Rajbir okay that might be the reason  why DHCP overwriting the existing IP  with the new one
18:11 MiroslavAnashkin Rajbir: With `neutron net-create` command
18:12 Rajbir I  tried that earlier but it wasn't working and hence tried the nova add-fixed-ip
18:12 Rajbir I was not able to ping the public IP when I used neutron net-create
18:13 Rajbir but I'll try again
18:13 Rajbir neutron net-create will create a new virtual network
18:13 Rajbir then I need to create ports using neutron as well right ?
18:15 MiroslavAnashkin Rajbir: yes, you then have to create subnet in new network. And divide the IP range between the networks accordingly
18:16 MiroslavAnashkin Rajbir: And add virtual router to the new network
18:17 Rajbir Yeah, I have already try that earlier but it wasn't working though, but I'll still try tomorrow.

18:19 Rajbir Do  you have a good guide  for adding virtual network, ports and router
