08:41 sc-rm On openstack Icehouse I have a lot of trouble with keystone and neutron-l3/neutron-metadata dying and/or just stopping working, but still running. This can be triggered by just powering down a switch and wait for 5-10 seconds and power it on again, then the entire stack goes crazy. Something is shutting down the qrouter on the controllers and when the switch is back on, none of the controllers will get back into a stable state without human interac
08:43 sc-rm If this is less likely to happen i juno, then to me it doesn’t matter since we are moving to juno

09:50 bazilza sc-rm, i made tests involving switch failure with juno and didn't experience this problem.
09:51 sc-rm bazilza: Sounds really cool
09:51 bazilza sc-rm, though i'm using lacp so...
09:52 sc-rm bazilza: so the nodes where connected to different switches?
09:53 bazilza sc-rm, yeap
09:53 sc-rm bazilza: or did the node loose complete connectivity for a while and then back online
09:54 bazilza sc-rm, i did lacp tests and controller failures. qrouter namespaces migrated fine
09:54 sc-rm bazilza: sounds good, because in icehouse right now qrouter does not migrate untill node restart
09:55 sc-rm bazilza: But upon network faliure I also see keystone and neutron services go down and give up in getting back into stable mode.
09:55 sc-rm bazilza: But I’ll move on with getting our juno setup running, so we get away from this problem.
09:56 sc-rm bazilza: How did you setup the lacp with fuel?
09:57 bazilza sc-rm, i didn't have icehouse with HA setup. so experience there
09:58 bazilza sc-rm, in fuel 6.0 you need to enable experimental features, then you'll have an option to bond the interfaces with lacp tcp balance mode via openvswitch
09:59 bazilza sc-rm, and you need to enable it on switch side separately.
10:00 sc-rm bazilza: Okay, I’ll have a look at it

10:11 sc-rm bazilza: Then you followed this http://docs.mirantis.com/openstack/fuel/fuel-6.0/reference-architecture.html#an-example-of-nic-aggregation-using-fuel-cli-tools ?
10:12 bazilza sc-rm, no. fuel-web has an option to do that in "Configure interfaces" when you deploy nodes. assuming you have experimental enabled
10:13 sc-rm bazilza: Ahe in that way :-)

10:51 admin0 if running HA setup, do all controllers need to be deployed @ once ? or can 1 be deployed first and 2 new added later ?
11:16 maximov joined #fuel
11:17 evg admin0: There seems to a bug about adding a controller, let me find it. But for testing env sure you can add it later. http://docs.mirantis.com/openstack/fuel/fuel-6.0/operations.html#add-a-controller-node
11:18 admin0 but if i add all @ once, then there won’t be errors right?

11:21 admin0 and when fuel gives admin URL at the end, if there are 3 controllers, is that IP some kind of a VIP ?
11:21 eferrando-adm hi, i've a question about network configuration with fuel
11:21 admin0 load balanced ?
11:22 alecv_ joined #fuel
11:23 eferrando-adm i think is a normal case to have the same CIDR (for external network) for admin PXE and Public at Openstack network configuration
11:23 francois1 joined #fuel
11:23 evg admin0: I don't understand why @ is 3. Sorry. Yes, 3 controllers is ok. URL at the end is VIP.
11:24 eferrando-adm i can't do that?

11:46 seeg eferrando-adm, what's up? :)
11:46 evg admin0: there was an integrational guide on their site butu I've got no experience here
11:46 eferrando-adm im trying to configure the network with fuel but i've a problem
11:47 evg admin0: http://www.opencontrail.org/opencontrail-quick-start-guide
11:47 eferrando-adm i've an error in the WEB-UI. its saying that i've configured the same CIDR for PXE and public ip adresses
11:47 eferrando-adm i think this is a normal case
11:48 bazilza joined #fuel
11:48 eferrando-adm fuel host has 192.168.1.50 CIDR 192.168.1.0/24
11:48 DaveJ__ joined #fuel
11:49 eferrando-adm and public network for VM has range 192.168.1.150 - 192.168.1.160 CIDR 192.168.1.0/24
11:49 eferrando-adm why i cant do this?
11:50 eferrando-adm is the type of networking (neutron + VLAN) witch is wrong?
11:52 evg eferrando-adm: PXE (fuel) is on a different phisical network. Isn't it?
11:52 eferrando-adm not
11:52 eferrando-adm is the same network that the nodes
11:52 eferrando-adm and the external network too
11:55 evg eferrando-adm: I mean pxe network is untagged and other is tagged.
11:55 eferrando-adm it is possible that the public network required in this step is the network used for the VM in openstack?
11:56 eferrando-adm and not the public IP address for the openstack nodes?
11:59 Miouge_ joined #fuel
12:05 evg eferrando-adm: there are some limitation in network configuration http://docs.mirantis.com/openstack/fuel/fuel-6.0/reference-architecture.html#known-limitations
12:06 evg eferrando-adm: why do you need mix network? Have you got the only one NIC?
12:08 eferrando-adm yes i've only one nic for testing
12:10 evg eferrando-adm: ok. got it.
12:10 bazilza joined #fuel

13:15 martineg_ hi, re https://bugs.launchpad.net/fuel/6.0.x/+bug/1405549 - slowdowns with one ctrl node down - we tried applying the suggested fix (comment #22) - for some reason functional tests through Fuel health checks take very long time when we shut a controller, some of them fail with time limit exceeded..

21:26 eriswans (Juno, HA, Neutron with VLANs): I have instances that can’t ping out to the external world, but I’m stumped with where they’re winding up. They make it all the way to one of my controllers, but in the br-prv, the flow that’s getting incremented is the catch-all instead of the one that looks like it should be doing something with the traffic: http://pastebin.ca/2964960
