06:27 sc-rm evg: Now I’m back for testing, and after a complete redeployment I see that fuel after running the healt tests still does not gives back the floating ip
06:28 sc-rm evg: but it’s the same that happens if I assign a floating ip in horizon and releases it, I can not assign the same floating ip again. I have to handle it manually by doing sql.

08:40 Samos123 any fast way to retreive the mysql root password from an already deployed environment?
08:47 tzn joined #fuel
08:48 mattymo Samos123,  fuel --env 1 settings --download
08:48 mattymo change 1 to the id of your env
08:49 julien_ZTE joined #fuel
08:49 mattymo it will be in the yaml file it downloads
09:03 Samos123 tried that but password isn't in there. see paste for reference of settings.yaml http://paste.openstack.org/show/203468/
09:04 mattymo oh yeah that's before it's actually processed
09:04 mattymo Samos123, then it's in /etc/astute.yaml on the deployed controller
09:04 Samos123 mattymo spot on! Thanks!

09:27 kybe Hi guys, I'm trying to add a telemtry node to an environment, but the role is just grayed out in "Add Nodes". Why is that?

09:45 Rumour Hello. I'm strugglign with network setup in Fuel environment, and could use some assistance. I'm running into "Address space intersection between networks: admin (PXE), management" even though admin and management are clearly different networks.

12:04 geta-tn evg: are you there?
13:12 evg geta-tn: I am here. Hi.
13:17 geta-tn Hi
13:18 evg geta-tn: I couln't reproduce your issue, may be I should setup ceph or more disks
13:19 evg geta-tn: this lp bag is escalated. More people are seeing it. Would be nice if your share more info about the case
13:19 geta-tn someone wrote me :for additional safety,  you may run `chmod -x /usr/bin/puppet` on the already deployed nodes, you want to preserve from any changes.
13:21 evg geta-tn: yes. But puppet is "deployng" it doesn't make repartitioning
13:22 evg geta-tn: any way this issue seems like a stupid UI bug. Fuel doens't change disk's configs on deployed env.
13:23 evg geta-tn: just can't and doesn't
13:23 geta-tn yes it could be that running chmod -x /usr/bin/puppet in the controllers  already deployed is not making any change
13:24 geta-tn too risky
13:24 geta-tn i dont want it do redeploy the controllers
13:25 evg geta-tn: yes, understand
13:25 evg geta-tn: if we could reproduce it somehow...
13:26 geta-tn I will try somehow to make in a test cluster
13:27 evg geta-tn: I think virtual box will do in your case
13:27 geta-tn what you mean virtual box?
13:28 evg geta-tn: I mean like this http://docs.mirantis.com/openstack/fuel/fuel-5.1/virtualbox.html

13:39 geta-tn evg: thnx
13:39 geta-tn if you have any news please let us know
13:44 evg geta-tn: please share a diagnostic shapshot of your test env if you've reproduce the issue
13:44 geta-tn i will
13:44 geta-tn surely
13:48 Samos123 if we use the fuel cli we can assign a node to be both controller and compute, correct?

14:26 championofcyrodi mattymo: you around?
14:28 championofcyrodi updated this bug last night while it was on my mind: https://bugs.launchpad.net/fuel/+bug/1440857  as i mentioned in the bottom, i'll look over the docs you linked me to and let you know if there is anything that could be more verbose.
14:31 mattymo championofcyrodi, you spotted several things in our docs to fix
14:31 mattymo so it's on my todo list as of now
14:31 julien_ZTE joined #fuel
14:31 mattymo if you feel generously inclined, you can contribute docs patches quite easily
14:31 championofcyrodi markdowns?
14:31 mattymo yeah it's in RST format

14:34 kybe Hey. Is there a way to enable SSL support for horizon and the API in fuel 6.0?
14:39 championofcyrodi kype: set up your own apache proxy is probably best
14:40 championofcyrodi kybe^
14:41 championofcyrodi actually, i think the controllers might already have httpd up...
14:41 kybe championofcyrodi: OK
14:41 championofcyrodi yup it's def running on my controller...
14:41 kybe championo: https, you mean?
14:42 championofcyrodi yea
14:42 championofcyrodi well.. sort of
14:42 championofcyrodi Apache HTTP Server is sometimes referred to as 'httpd'
14:42 championofcyrodi since that is the name of the binary that is the daemon.
14:42 championofcyrodi do you have multiple controllers with HA??
14:42 championofcyrodi or just 1?
14:43 championofcyrodi so what i mean is they are currently running 'httpd', and  you may be able to configure the proxy (httpd) to support HTTPS requests
14:43 kybe Just one in a HA setup. httpd is the webserver, but I'm not seeing anything listening on 443 or similar with netstat. Perhaps one could use haproxy to terminate SSL
14:44 championofcyrodi check out '/etc/httpd/conf.d/openstack-dashboard.conf' maybe
14:44 kybe thanks
14:44 championofcyrodi there is also api  .conf
14:45 championofcyrodi looks like they're running Apache HTTP Server 2.2.15
14:45 championofcyrodi which is important to know because you'll need to use the right docs for the SSL config...
14:45 championofcyrodi [root@node-54 conf.d]# rpm -qa | grep httpd
14:46 kybe yeah, but I was hoping there was a feature in fuel to set up SSL for horizon as well as the APIs.
14:46 championofcyrodi also it looks like puppet manages the files, so it might be worth looking in to updating the puppet template too??  but that is beyond me.
14:46 Longgeek joined #fuel
14:46 kybe I can do it manually, but that would deviate the config away from what fuel manages
14:47 championofcyrodi i understand.
14:49 championofcyrodi if you do your own proxy, ensure the interface supports the bandwidth you desire...
14:49 championofcyrodi e.g. 1Gbps NIC will limit users access to the API to 1Gbps.
14:50 kybe Good point. Also, one had to modify all keystone service endpoints if one transitions to HTTPS for the APIs...
14:50 championofcyrodi https://blueprints.launchpad.net/fuel/+spec/ssl-endpoints
14:51 championofcyrodi looks like that feature is in the works
