09:42 coincoin hi there
09:49 coincoin with fuel 6.0, how can i change the nameserver configuration provided by Fuel to the nodes in /etc/resolv.conf ?
09:50 coincoin I mean after a deployment
09:50 kaliya change /etc/resolv.conf on the cluster nodes?
09:51 coincoin but when a node reboot it will be erased by fuel provisionning no ?
09:52 Longgeek_ joined #fuel
09:52 kaliya the only configurations "erased" are the ones provided by the HA mechanisms. Puppet never runs after the first deployment
09:52 coincoin Or it is just hard configured with initial deployment ?
09:52 coincoin ha ok , thanks ! I though badly about that
09:53 kaliya you can just do an ssh loop, modify resolv.conf ;)
09:53 coincoin ok, thank you !

11:28 DaveJ__ Hi guys - I setup fuel and deployed, with nova instances booting from local disk.
11:28 DaveJ__ is there anyway to restrospectively change it, so that I can boot them from ceph storage ?

11:59 kaliya DaveJ__: yes, you have to configure Cinder to work on Ceph

12:40 DaveJ__ kaliya:  THanks
12:40 DaveJ__ one last question for the day :-)
12:40 DaveJ__ I have some servers that don't seem to work well with ubuntu
12:41 DaveJ__ is it possible to fudge fuel/cobbler so that some machines are installed with centos while others use ubuntu ?
12:41 DaveJ__ I was thinking that if I can interrupt the reboot after clicking deploy, I could change the tftp profile to point to ubuntu instead

13:54 kaliya DaveJ__: no, not possible and not reccomended to mix up operating systems... of course you can deploy a centos based cluster and manually add some ubuntu nodes, but I don't like so much the idea
13:56 DaveJ__ kaliya - hopefully it would be short term measure until ubuntu 14 is available.  Some blades we are using are getting continnual back traces in the kernel log and it looks like a kern module issue / driver
13:56 kaliya got it, you can always add some driver into the bootstrapped image
13:56 kaliya which driver are you missing?
13:58 mattgriffin joined #fuel
14:12 DaveJ__ I think the dirver is there, but it seems to be some incompatability.  I haven't been able to track down the orginal driver, as it's meant to be included in the OS 12.04 should support it
14:12 DaveJ__ but ethtool suggests limited functionality is available on the nic.
14:12 DaveJ__ Don't seem to get it with CentOS, which why I was wanting to run a mixed environment for a few weeks until 14.04 is available and I can see if that resolves the problem.
14:13 kaliya I think we'll support 14.04 in Fuel 7

14:26 BobBall kaliya: I have a potentially simple question.  How should a guest get it's public (non-floating) IP address when using nova network flat DHCP manager? (i.e. where is the DHCP service, which interface, etc).  I've got some guests that aren't getting DHCP leases, which is probably my fault due to a complicated network setup, but I'm trying to understand how it _should_ work.
