05:49 zerda Hello. I'm trying to set up bonded interfaces as described in the "reference architecture". I add "network_scheme" element, but seems that it's ignored during deployment. Should I also remove "network_data" from deployment yaml? Fuel 6.0

06:39 ub hi guys, is it possible to install and use a fule plugin (e.g. VPNaaS) after deployment?

07:23 aliemieshko <ub>hi, no. you need to install plugins before you deploy your environment
07:23 aliemieshko https://docs.mirantis.com/openstack/fuel/fuel-6.0/user-guide.html#install-plugin
07:23 rongze joined #fuel
07:26 ub <aliemieshko> so i have to delete the environment and create a new one? Is there another way by CLI?
07:31 aliemieshko I think yes
07:33 aliemieshko you have to install only before you deploy
07:36 ub and in 6 month when other plugins are available i have to delete and create the hole stack again? I need another way :S
07:39 aliemieshko try to ask in developers on #fuel-dev
07:40 ub thanks for helping me

08:38 martineg_ ub: the plugin is either a script or puppet manifest, which you could apply manually on the nodes post-deploy
08:52 ub <martineg_>do you have some how to's? do I have to edit the puppet manifest on the nodes or on puppet on fule? How can I get the plugin script or puppet manifest from the fp file?
08:52 martineg_ ub: the fp-file is just a tar archive
08:55 martineg_ containing a shell deploy script or a puppet manifest to be applied (pr node)
08:58 alecv joined #fuel
08:58 martineg_ ub: you could tar xzvf it, then look at the tasks.yaml file to see which tasks it runs, for the vpnaas plugin it will puppet apply (on each controller node) the site.pp in deployment_scripts/puppet/
09:01 stamak joined #fuel
09:02 ub i found it. so i have to copy the puppet modules in the tar to each controller node and add the text in site.pp to the end of /etc/puppet/manifest/site.pp?
09:04 martineg_ yes, or preferably just copy the puppet directory and do a manual puppet --modulepath=puppet/modules apply manifests/site.pp ..
09:05 martineg_ cannot guarantee it would work out of the box but basically what is listed in the tasks.yaml is what is applied by the plugin.
09:06 ub thank you very much! this sounds like a solution for me
09:06 ub i have to learn puppet
09:06 ppal joined #fuel
09:08 ub are changes on fule puppet automatically deployed to all nodes or can i sync it?
09:08 martineg_ I see the vpnaas plugin also contains some (rpm/deb) packages, you would need to provide them as well somehow, in the plugin it's shipped as a local repository
09:08 martineg_ (in the repositories/ directory)

19:01 kutija one day  i will succeed with Fuel
19:01 kutija one day!
19:03 kutija but with this rate of failures I think that I'm going to be dead before I see OpenStack running using Fuel
19:10 kutija is there anything I can do, except filling my storage with zeroes to avoid this issue
19:10 kutija ceph-deploy osd prepare node-8:/dev/sdd2: returned 1 instead of one of [0]
19:10 kutija ?
19:10 kutija because this is a third time in a row my deploy fails because of this
