11:07 baboune hi, after losing my env due to container corruption and a corrupted backup, we installed fuel-community-6-1 to install our env.  We have three main issues. lloking at issue one: 1) RabbitMQ exchange pb: "NotFound: Exchange.declare: (404) NOT_FOUND - no exchange 'reply_93835402586d41639ae6fdad8ced2d0e' in vhost '/'" 16
11:07 baboune I think this is a know problem... but I can not find it
11:08 baboune any ideas?
11:14 baboune addditionally, the fuel 6.0 guide, https://docs.mirantis.com/openstack/fuel/fuel-6.0/operations.html, points to an invalid url for the crm.  It points to http://doc.opensuse.org/products/draft/SLE-HA/SLE-ha-guide_sd_draft/cha.ha.manual_config.html which is not found

11:44 evg baboune: not this https://bugs.launchpad.net/mos/+bug/1458001?
11:44 evg baboune: looks like was fixed recently
11:47 evg baboune: wrong url - thanks for the report
11:49 evg baboune: have you launch a bug?
11:50 baboune evg: I can make a bug report
11:51 baboune evg: 1458++1 that could be the pb... I will try...
11:51 evg baboune: would be nice. thanks a lot

13:15 baboune problem 2: Ubuntu installation fails. [508] Error running provisioning: Net::ReadTimeout, trace: see https://www.dropbox.com/s/kou252gy173k8al/ubuntu-deploy-fail.txt?dl=0. Is this known?
13:16 baboune basically ubuntu deploys never gets past the "bootstrap" install and hangs there
13:52 subscope joined #fuel
14:14 baboune the centos repository seem to be missing the following packages: rrdtool rrdtool-devel rrdtool-prel libgcrypt-dev.  How to add those?
14:17 mattgriffin joined #fuel
14:31 subscope joined #fuel
14:31 vidalinux joined #fuel
14:33 mwhahaha which version?
14:40 baboune based on community edition 6.1
14:40 baboune I can add the central centos repo but I am unsure as to why those packages are removed from fuel atm
14:42 mwhahaha probably because we don't use them, might just add them to the local repo or something
14:42 mwhahaha or are they needed for a deploy of something?
14:42 baboune to install collectd on the servers
14:43 baboune so not part of fuel no, but of a normal centos yes
14:43 baboune plus  those used to be there
14:43 baboune or available at least
14:44 lquince Is there a way I can use a external Ceph cluster with Fuel?
14:48 mwhahaha lquince: probably, it might take some manual configuration
14:50 lquince Do you mean once I have done my initial deployment? I into mind weather to carry on with fuel at the moment or look at opencrowbar or theforeman to deploy our env, fuel just seems to miss the level of detail we need, one of the main one is the ability to deploy availablity zones for example.. While I can do the whole thing manually that really not the point.
14:52 rmoe joined #fuel
14:54 mwhahaha I believe you can do availability zones but that's just an adjustment that can be done after the fact
14:54 mwhahaha i'm trying to find docs for that
14:56 kaliya lquince: we tend to make the Fuel configuration as easy as possible, with not so many customizations. If you need other details instead of starting from scratch you can hack a bit the puppet modules of the fuel library

15:01 lquince While i agree Fuel is a nicely polished deployment tool, it does lack that customisation peice that would be great if it could be done in the gui.. A small little thing for example when I remove a compute node it stays in Openstack, when I readd the node it is deployed a new node.
15:02 emagana joined #fuel
15:02 buster_604 joined #fuel
15:02 kaliya what does it mean that when you remove a compute it stays in OpenStack? you remove, then Deploy Changes, it's rebooted and comes back as a new available server
15:03 kaliya can you elaborate a bit lquince please? just curious
15:03 mwhahaha i think he means it's still in the keystone service catalog
15:03 mwhahaha which it shouldn't be and that would be a bug i beleive
15:04 baboune joined #fuel
15:05 kaliya if you think it's a bug, feel free to file one https://bugs.launchpad.net/fuel/+filebug
15:05 lquince Correct it stays in Keystone.. This is in the 6.0 Mirantis release.. If that makes a difference
15:05 mwhahaha lquince: all of the features you're looking for would be nice if available via the gui. But i believe there are ways to configure all of the things you want you just need to know the best way to turn those nobs
15:05 kaliya stays in keystone where?
15:06 mwhahaha if you do an endpoint list, it's probably still listed or something
15:07 lquince For example under >Hypervisors > compute hosts
15:07 kaliya endpoints??
15:08 kaliya does `nova hypervisor-list` show a removed compute node? would be a bug and even critical
15:10 mwhahaha https://bugs.launchpad.net/fuel/+bug/1457515
15:14 kaliya have you reproduced this mwhahaha lquince (maybe on neutron)?
15:14 mwhahaha which one?
15:14 kaliya bug/1457515
15:15 mwhahaha ah i think i've seen it, at some point later today i can try and reproduce it
15:15 kaliya ok good, if you run into it with a different conf (e.g. not vcenter and neutron) please tell us
15:18 lquince only using neutron not vcenter in our deployment
15:27 baboune where is the part of puppet that creates/resets the rabbitmq queues used by openstack in HA?
15:29 baboune seems one of the queues in rabbitmq is gone
15:29 youellet joined #fuel
15:30 baboune it is Juno, fuel 6.1, and the scheduler never answers
15:31 mwhahaha don't the services create them?
15:32 kaliya baboune: this? https://github.com/stackforge/fuel-library/blob/db5f39e96e7ab9f79691202755e547bf8242661f/files/fuel-ha-utils/ocf/rabbitmq
15:33 baboune yes. thx
15:33 baboune about crm, how stable is it?
15:34 kaliya latests ISOs are pretty stable
15:34 baboune and in particular what does "resource p_rabbitmq_server reset" do?
15:43 baboune the above is the crm command to "reset" rabbitmq.  the doc is not clear about what it does?  And somehow after running that we lost some queues.
15:45 kutija joined #fuel
15:50 baboune sry meant "cleanup", as per doc: "The cleanup command resets a resource's state on the node if it is currently in a failed state because of some unexpected operation, such as some side effects of a System V init operation on the resource. If this happens, Pacemaker can do the clean-up, deciding which node will run the resource"
15:51 kaliya baboune: Fuel docs?
15:51 baboune what does the text mean about the resource in particular for rabbitmq if there is a single controller
15:51 baboune yes
15:51 baboune fuel 6
15:51 baboune operations guide
15:52 kaliya but why crm, should be pcs
15:52 baboune https://docs.mirantis.com/openstack/fuel/fuel-6.0/operations.html#id100
15:52 kaliya I filed some bug to fix that point and update it to pcs
15:52 baboune in the doc it says crm
15:52 kaliya ya so not update, I check and make this to be changed
15:53 baboune ok, so that doc part is wrong?
15:53 kaliya seems outdated
15:53 baboune humm... ahh...
15:53 kaliya let me check and ask an upgrade to the docs team
15:54 baboune ok. is there some indications on how to disable HA for rabbitmq and clean it (cleanup) so that it starts in normal mode?
16:00 baboune ok.. guessing that is a no... whhat would "pcs resource p_rabbitmq cleanup" do then?
