08:48 hyperbaba Hi, I have a problema i 5.1.1 HA deployment with rabbitmq. I need to restart the rabbitmq services. How can i do that using crm pcs commands?
08:55 aliemieshko_ hi, you can run 'pcs resource disable xxx'   ' pcs resource enable xxx '
08:57 aliemieshko_ in your case: pcs resource disable master_p_rabbitmq-server
08:57 aliemieshko_ pcs resource enable master_p_rabbitmq-server
08:57 aliemieshko_ During this operation, the RabbitMQ cluster will be restarted. This may take from a 1 up to 20 minutes
08:58 aliemieshko_ after you need to check whether the RabbitMQ cluster is functioning on each controller node:
08:58 aliemieshko_ rabbitmqctl cluster_status
08:58 aliemieshko_ rabbitmqctl list_users
09:00 hyperbaba aliemieshko_: thank you
09:01 hyperbaba aliemieshko_:  This is not the first time this is happening on my deployment. The last time the only way to restore services was to reboot each controller in sequence
09:02 hyperbaba aliemieshko_: this restart does not do the job because rabbitmq services started to dump mnesia cores in /var/lib/rabbitmq
09:07 hyperbaba aliemieshko_: Is this a known bug for 5.1.1? Could not find anything on the net

12:19 samuelBartel hello all
12:19 samuelBartel i am trying to create a new role using fuel cli folowing  user guide for 6.1
12:19 samuelBartel but when I deploy a node with the newly created role i got the following error  "the node is not in the digraph"
12:20 samuelBartel does that mean that is is not possible to deploy custom role in 6.1?

14:37 championofcyrodi okay, so at this point, i'm seeing ARP requests on the controller's bonded NICs (eth3-5) asking who has a slaves MAC address, and ARP requests on said slave's single NIC (eth1) asking show has the controllers MAC address.
14:37 championofcyrodi both encapsulated in vlan id 201
14:37 championofcyrodi since i'm listening at the NIC/ether level, it would imply perhaps my switch is eating the packets?
14:42 championofcyrodi i am making that assessment based on this screenshot: http://i.imgur.com/SaaE7BP.png
14:42 eliqiao joined #fuel
14:43 championofcyrodi am I wrong to assume that there is a switching issue if the eth1 <-> eth3,4,5  ARP requests are not being accepted? where eth3,4,5 are part of a Link Aggregate Group on my switch? (LAG)
14:58 mwhahaha i don't suppose you forgot to allow the vlans over the LAG?
15:01 championofcyrodi maybe... this switch is not allowing me to assign VLANs to the LAG itself, but instead marks the LAG 'excluded' and that they can be allowed via GVRP, which i enabled at one point... maybe i need to try to fiddling w/ that again
15:01 championofcyrodi switch (http://screenshots.portforward.com/routers/Linksys/SRW2048/)
15:02 mwhahaha oh linksys, how i dispise you
15:03 mwhahaha http://screenshots.portforward.com/routers/Linksys/SRW2048/Ports_to_VLAN.htm
15:03 mwhahaha so you can't do it there?
15:03 mwhahaha switch it to a trunk and tag the vlans?
15:04 championofcyrodi no, the option is grayed out...
15:05 sbfox joined #fuel
15:05 championofcyrodi this switch is a real POS... apparently to set up the LACP i had to 'check' LACP before checking the ports in the UI.  if you check the ports first, the LACP checkbox disables.  and it only works w/ IE.  Chrome/Firefox dont.
15:06 mwhahaha i think i had one of those, doesn't it have a telnet cli or something
15:07 championofcyrodi maybe, i think i'm going to start digging in to that now.
15:08 championofcyrodi all my life i was led to believe ARP was used for LAN routing and it would just work when broadcasting in the same subnet...
15:08 championofcyrodi but apparently when using an older switch w/ LAG it becomes not so clear to me.
15:11 mwhahaha its layer 2, only works on the same network segment
15:17 rmoe joined #fuel
15:30 championofcyrodi so i'm thinking, I could move management over to the non bonded interface, and disable VLAN for storage, then place ONLY storage on the bond, i'd be good on the controller...
15:30 championofcyrodi but my nodes only have two NICs, and the fuel UI wont let me add more than one network w/o VLAN tagging.
15:30 championofcyrodi and i would have 3... public, admin and storage.
15:30 championofcyrodi i'm not sure why 'public' is still required on the UI w/ vRouter at the controller though...
15:31 championofcyrodi and if i tag public as a VLAN, then the controller can't communicate w/ the public LAN. :(
15:32 championofcyrodi i meant i'm not sure why 'public' is still required on the compute nodes
15:32 championofcyrodi it would be fine to VLAN tag public in the context of the openstack switch...
15:33 championofcyrodi but then it vlan tags the controller's public connection too.
15:35 mwhahaha or switch to gre
15:36 championofcyrodi doesnt the switch have to support GRE?
15:36 mwhahaha no
15:36 mwhahaha https://ask.openstack.org/en/question/51388/whats-the-difference-between-flat-gre-and-vlan-neutron-network-types/
15:36 championofcyrodi omg... i thought of that 3 days ago.
15:36 championofcyrodi i'll try that.

16:19 championofcyrodi "Untagged networks can not be assigned to the same interface" w/ GRE Networking :(
16:20 championofcyrodi looks like GRE is just a sub for private networks vlan
16:22 mwhahaha you can tag them all
16:22 mwhahaha except the admin network
16:23 championofcyrodi but that puts me back in the same boat with LACP bond not supporting VLAN tags between non-bonded interfaces.
16:23 mwhahaha gre tags != vlan tags
16:23 championofcyrodi oh
16:24 mwhahaha it just has to be on the same l2 segment
16:24 championofcyrodi the interface says "Use VLAN tagging", so i was confuese.
16:24 mwhahaha yea it's the vlan tag that gets wrapped in the encapsulation
16:25 championofcyrodi ok
16:25 championofcyrodi so the VLAN tags dont even matter really...
16:25 championofcyrodi in that i don't have to configure them on the switch
16:28 stamak joined #fuel
16:29 mwhahaha right you wouldn't have to tag anything
16:29 mwhahaha they all need to be on the same vlan (untagged)
16:29 mwhahaha but that's it

17:43 championofcyrodi well... looks like the GRE is only for private networks/tenants.  The verify networks failed when i specified VLANs that were not configured on the switch, even w/ GRE tunneling.  I specified only the storage network to utilize the bonded interface, and now i am still having the same issue getting through the bond to slaves and vice versa.

18:03 championofcyrodi well...
18:03 championofcyrodi i put management on the non-bonded NIC, and the deployment went okay.
18:04 championofcyrodi and openstack seems to be working as far as creating volumes and what not...
18:04 championofcyrodi so now i'm just wondering what the 'storage' interface on the controller even does.
18:04 championofcyrodi because i still can't get a ping on the storage subnet to go through... maybe something deeper is happening, i don't know

18:19 mwhahaha ping on the storage subnet to what
18:46 championofcyrodi to a ceph node
18:46 championofcyrodi from the controller
18:51 championofcyrodi e.g. storage subnet is 10.10.40.0/24, trying to ping 10.10.40.5 (some ceph node) from the controller fails.
19:04 mwhahaha maybe your switch is just broken
