14:36 Rodrigo_BR Is correct the procedure for enable https on horizon ?

14:46 bildz good morning.  Are there any tips for installing fuel off a USB?
14:46 bildz originally, i had an issue with the kickstart mapping cdrom:/ks.cfg, so i changed to hd:sda1/ks.cfg and it took, but now it cannot find the centos repo

15:40 rbrooker can someone here tell me if I should be finding a Release.gpg key in the Mirantis Repos?
15:41 mwhahaha i don't think so
15:42 rbrooker so the packages aren't signed?
15:42 mwhahaha not yet, i think it's on the radar for an upcoming release
15:42 rbrooker ok, cause I think that has been my issue with mirroring the repos
15:44 ClaudeD joined #fuel
15:46 ClaudeD in Fuel 6.1 webui I keep getting false alerts that nodes "had gone away" and then few secs later "is back online". What is causing this?
15:46 rbrooker ClaudeD: is the node rebooting?
15:47 mwhahaha might be mcollective connectivity issues
15:47 ClaudeD No, it works reliably! I get this error for all my nodes at different intervals
15:48 ClaudeD I get a message every 4 minutes or so
15:51 mwhahaha check the mcollective logs

15:52 rbrooker question is the option for lbaas supposed to show in fuel as an option if the plugin is installed?  similar to the vpnaas / fwaas etc..?
15:53 alexz joined #fuel
15:53 mwhahaha i'm not sure what process does the online/offline stuff. I know if a node doesn't check in it switches it offline
15:54 mwhahaha rbrooker: i don't think so,i think it just enables the non-HA stuff in openstack. i don't think there are any settings or anything
15:55 rbrooker ok just wanted to be sure, because on my last test, it didn't show in horizon, nor in neutron's plugin list
15:56 mwhahaha yea i've not installed it myself, so i'm not completely sure of the expected functionaility

16:03 rbrooker plugin info =>  lbaas   | 1.0.0   | 1.0.0   -- perhaps I'm using the wrong one.
16:04 rbrooker here's the info for  ha_fencing  | 6.0.0   | 1.0.0 (verison| pkg_v)
16:06 ClaudeD mwhahaha: in fact, assasind is the process checking for hosts
16:06 mwhahaha rbrooker: fuel 6.1 or 6.0?
16:06 rbrooker 6.1
16:07 justif joined #fuel
16:07 mwhahaha yea if it's not showing up it's probably not compatible
16:08 rbrooker ok, it did show a deprecation warning, but no error, manual it is for now
16:09 rbrooker also are there any plugins for trove? I remember talking to someone from Mirantis last fall regarding Trove support and postgresql
16:09 rbrooker its that a plan for 7 and kilo?

18:18 bildz Good afternoon, is anyone around to assist?
18:21 xarses bildz: there are frequently people lurking around. Please post your question and loiter, someone may pipe up
18:23 bildz just wondering if an image file for 6.1 will be released soon
18:23 bildz im struggling to get my mac to burn the iso
18:23 xarses for usb?
18:23 bildz correct
18:23 xarses they are the same, you should be able to dd the iso to usb
18:24 bildz tried that and first it complains that the kickstart cannot map cdrom:/ks.cfg, which is easy to resolve to hd:sda1/ks.cfg
18:24 bildz it's the centos repo that's hanging up on me
18:24 xarses I think there are a 1-2 options on the boot menu, you may need to pick the second one
18:24 bildz there's 4 options and I did pick the USB install
18:25 bildz that's a good idea though, maybe i can see if there is a grub option that can be edited
18:25 xarses ya, I cant remember but one of them did work
18:25 xarses I thought it was the default
18:26 xarses please try them and let us know. The feedback is useful. There may be a bug here we need to address

21:07 ggolin i realize this is probably more of an openstack question, but could someone in short explain why during VM spin-up adding an internal network + a floating IP results in an externally accessible VM while adding an external network with an external IP assigned to an interface does not?
21:07 xarses dhcp
21:08 xarses there is no dhcp service running on net04_ext
21:09 xarses well, and overlay networks
21:10 xarses from a design perspective, you would not assign directly to the external network because it breaks the ability to have translation at that point
21:11 xarses if thats something you wanted, in that ever instance is directly accessable on the external networks then you are more likely interested in provider networks
21:11 xarses if you used a non-admin user to boot the instances, you would not even see net04_ext
21:12 xarses with out the translation, you can't have per-tenant networks with overlaping IP space
21:12 xarses they would use the provider IP space
21:12 e0ne joined #fuel
21:13 xarses if these where Internet IP's and you don't have a class A, you would also exhaust your IP pool quickly if not every instance required a public IP
21:13 xarses ggolin: ^
21:14 ggolin xarses: thank you!
21:16 xarses ggolin: I think in short, it's the same reason why you have a few internet IP's and d-nat your normal outbound network traffic
21:17 ggolin so i guess for elasticity folks have a vm with a VIP and a proxy, and a pool of vms behind that VIP
21:17 ggolin xarses: perfect example, yes. dnat. got it.

22:10 ggolin is there a way to customize the openstack env beyond what is already there? for example, i want ldap integration for aaa and https enabled on relevant endpoints.
22:11 ggolin in other words, is there a "puppet.d" directory where i can add my own manifests?
22:11 ggolin or whatever puppet calls it, im a chef guy.

22:46 xarses fuel only run's them when you tell it to do a task such as "deploy changes"
22:46 xarses the files there will be rsynced to the nodes being acted on
22:46 xarses before a task starts
