14:55 mwhahaha that's a new one
14:56 mwhahaha you can try manually running 'ruby /usr/lib64/ruby/gems/2.1.0/gems/astute-0.0.2/lib/astute/post_deployment_actions/upload_cirros_image.rb'
14:57 DevStok that command try to complete the deployment?

16:14 ericjwolf Greetings
16:15 ericjwolf I have finally got my IT group to fix all the firewall issues and now my Fuel repo for ubuntu 14.04 is setup.
16:15 ericjwolf I tried to deploy and now my nodes are failing to install due to Architecture not supported error.
16:16 ericjwolf they are 64bit intel servers.  Is there a setting I need to fix in a script?
16:17 ericjwolf I have 4 servers initially to delploy,  3 are HP Sandy bridge and 1 is a generic Supermicro X5687  @ 3.60GHz
16:17 ericjwolf Any ideas?

18:14 ericjwolf I was able to work around it by changin the deployment setting back to the image style.
18:15 ericjwolf it is in progress of deploying so will see what happens

18:55 ericjwolf yes.  When I first started doing this work before I was told the new image based ubuntu prov was broken and to use the classic method.  Turns out my issue was the repo issue all along.
18:56 ericjwolf Now that my repo issue is fixed.  I changed to set the prov to image based and it worked.  my cluster is now up.
18:56 ericjwolf You have been very helpful thank you.,
18:56 mwhahaha cool, yea image based deployment is the correct method to use
18:57 ericjwolf I also wanted to know if there is a easy way to change the node names from nodexx to a real name?
18:57 mwhahaha no
18:57 mwhahaha renaming the nodes is not currently supported
18:57 ericjwolf no as in no easy way or no as in it is really so much a pain that nobody does it?
18:57 mwhahaha it can break things
18:57 ericjwolf can it be done BEFORE a deployment is started?
18:58 mwhahaha no
18:58 ericjwolf is there a feature/bug on this?
18:58 mwhahaha https://blueprints.launchpad.net/fuel/+spec/node-naming
18:58 mwhahaha did not make it into 7 unfortunately
19:01 ericjwolf So I do need to do some new networking setup on the compute.  If I download the yaml files for the nodes and re-upload.  Does it actually push it to the compute that is already up?  Does the compute usually need to be rebooted?
19:02 ericjwolf or is it only saved if the node needs to be re-deployed?
19:02 mwhahaha what do you mean new networking setup?
19:02 ericjwolf Our app uses multiple externally facing provider public networks.  We do not use the NAT routers
19:03 ericjwolf se we have some custom settings that are done in OVS
19:03 mwhahaha generally the settings are locked on nodes when they are deployed and you would have to deploy new ones and migrate
19:03 ericjwolf I know you can download the deployment yaml files and modify them.
19:03 ericjwolf when you upload them if the config pushed to the computes?
19:04 mwhahaha no the yaml file isn't pushed again
19:04 ericjwolf ok, so only at the initial deployment
19:04 mwhahaha yes
19:05 ericjwolf let's say that I make changes on the computes themselves, are there any scripts (puppet scripts) that will go back and possibly change the settings back?
19:05 mwhahaha i don't believe so unless you went and added a new role or something
19:06 mwhahaha i don't believe code is rerun on the computes when new systems are deployed
19:06 mwhahaha but for those types of changes, you might want to take some time and put them in a plugin
19:06 mwhahaha that way you don't have to manually do those types of changes on new systems when you grow your cloud
19:08 ericjwolf hummmmm
19:08 ericjwolf that's an idea

21:22 rgowrishankar Hello, I am in the process of writing a fuel plugin for 6.1 and my plugin needs to install software packages on the Compute nodes. I am doing it as a post deploy task using puppet. What I am seeing is that by the time my plugin puppet script is executed, the neutron networking has been setup and so the compute nodes no longer have an IP address on the public
21:22 rgowrishankar network through which it can access the ubuntu repositories. The default route on the compute nodes is set to the controller (which I assume is the case for the neutron L3Agent?). The base install succeeds without any problems. Any pointers on how I can solve this issue?
21:47 ntpttr joined #fuel
22:07 mwhahaha could you provide the software in the plugin to be put in to a repo on the fuel master?
22:08 * mwhahaha wanders off
22:23 ntpttr joined #fuel
22:24 rmoe joined #fuel
22:26 rgowrishankar The software itself is in the fuel master repo. It is the dependencies for that package that is causing the issue. The software has dependencies on generic modules like googleprotobuf. I don't want to go down the rabbit hole of trying to gather he complete dependency chain into the plugin
