10:18 Sesso Hello, Has anyone had their fuel install complete but on reboot, it gets stuck after starting rhsmcertd? I have looked at logs and its only happened once from what i Have seen.
10:26 adanin Sesso: Hello. Fuel 6.1? The Fuel node inself stuck? Could you share /var/log/ somewhere?
10:27 Sesso Yes, 6.1. Not sure how to get to logs if it hasnt finished booting yet.
10:29 Sesso interesting. I went to another terminal and im able to login. I was never shown the initial setup screen.
10:30 az joined #fuel
10:33 Sesso It never makes it to this screen https://docs.mirantis.com/openstack/fuel/fuel-6.1/_images/fuelmenu_Network_Setup.png
10:43 adanin Sesso: A fuel node installs in two steps: one is Anaconda installation from ISO to HD. The second one is Puppet run while first boot from HD. It may take 20-60 min (depends on how much RAM/CPU you put into that mashine).
10:44 Sesso after its first reboot correct?
10:45 Sesso after its first reboot from HD correct?

10:46 adanin Sesso: Fuelmenu doesn’t show up by default. Did you change kernel line to showmenu=yes at this step (boot from ISO)? https://docs.mirantis.com/openstack/fuel/fuel-6.1/user-guide.html#install-fuel-master-node
10:46 adanin Sesso: correct.
10:48 Sesso I hit tab and its set to yes. I have done successful installs on virtualbox so maybe im just not waiting long enough. There was a lot of text scrolling for VBox installs. This server I am now installing on is 8 cores and 32GB ram.
10:48 saibarspeis joined #fuel
11:03 adanin Sesso: hmm. could you share /var/log/puppet/bootstrap_admin_node.log?
11:06 Sesso puppet has no logs
11:07 Sesso I did find errors in /var/log/rhsm/rhsmcertd.log
11:07 Sesso thats also where the boot up stops
11:14 adanin Sesso: I have a warning in my rhsmcrtd.log but everything works fine: [WARN] (Healing) Update failed (255), retry will occur on next run.
11:14 Sesso oh ok
11:15 Sesso So maybe puppet never starts?
11:25 adanin Sesso: the /var/log/puppet/bootstrap_admin_node.log file is empty?
11:28 adanin Sesso: which errors did you find in rhsmcertd.log?

13:33 insanidade anyone alive and able to provide a quick help in the network configuration ?
13:33 insanidade can`t make the verification test pass ;/
13:34 insanidade I believe a quick help on the values I should choose would help a lot ;_)

15:49 Dragos Hi! After creating local repositories on Fuel is there any way to revert to the online ones?

16:09 insanidade kaliya: thanks for the url.
16:10 insanidade kaliya: should I assume that I have at leas a minimal correct configuration for fuel once that I`m able to use its UI ?
16:10 insanidade kaliya: I mean: fuel`s environment would have nothing to do with my openstack deployment environment. is that correct?
16:15 insanidade one thing would be the network in which I have configured fuel`s pxe nic. another different thing would be the networks I`ll configure for management, storage and private networks within openstack. correct ?
16:15 insanidade I`m pretty confused here.
16:15 WormMan left #fuel
16:25 Dragos insanidade: the PXE interface of fuel must be on the same L2 network as the PXE interfaces of the OpenStack nodes (the admin network is the PXE network)
16:26 insanidade Dragos: that`s ok. the nodes were correctly pxe booted. I could detect them in the UI.
16:30 insanidade please tell me if this is a bug : every time I configure two nics in fuel`s setup screen and set them to different networks each, the gateway line for the first configured nic is always erased.
16:31 insanidade (now I`m talking about fuel installation - not utilization)
16:31 Dragos i am not aware of such bug. i don't think i set a gateway for the PXE interface.
16:32 insanidade so setting a gateway to pxe interface is not necessary ?

17:03 Dragos Insanidade: Sorry to mislead you. I have default gateways on both interfaces in Fuel
17:05 insanidade Dragos: for some reason, the gateway for an interface is erased if I set the gateway for the other interface.
17:05 Dragos yes, because you can have only one default gateway
17:06 Dragos if you look at the 4th row from the top in fuel setup you will see that the interface has a gfateway

17:10 insanidade Dragos: so I defined a private pxe network (and all my nodes are in that same network) and a second network so that I could access fuel`s UI. for that second network, I defined a public network. makes sense ?
17:10 Dragos yes. the GW should be there for the public network
17:11 Dragos sorry, but I need to log ogg
