15:05 championofcyrodi so i had an OS disk fail on one of my compute nodes, and it wouldnt boot.. CRUSH map was set up correctly, so ceph healed, and then i removed the old OSDs from the cluster, and rebuilt the compute node and it's OSDs, added it back... thus node-12 became node-15.
15:06 championofcyrodi i then found out i should have migrated the instances off node-12 while they were shut down :(
15:06 championofcyrodi however, a few sql statements later, and that is all worked out.
15:07 zhangjn joined #fuel
15:07 championofcyrodi now i'm dealing w/ the neutron agent that was running on node-12, the neutron ports configured for binding:host_id = node-12, and the fact that floating ips that were bound to that port dont work.
15:08 championofcyrodi i went ahead and removed the agent, since it's gone... but now I'm having trouble figuring out how to either update the binding host, or removing the port, and creating a new one using the original floating ip.  thoughts?
15:09 championofcyrodi sorry, node-12 was a COMPUTE+CEPH OSD node

17:19 josephillips hey
17:19 josephillips someone here
17:19 josephillips for a quick question
17:21 josephillips im installing fuel 6.1 and works great , i deploy the cloud for public network vlan tagging
17:21 josephillips but when i check on the virtual machines i cant get internet , if i check the network configuration on openstack these network are on flat mode without vlan tagging
17:22 josephillips and i cant create a new network inside of openstack with vlan tagging i get a error that said "unable to create network NAME"
17:23 JoeStack joined #fuel
17:23 josephillips no one?
17:29 JoeStack Is there an option to force delete of nodes or an environment using fuel cli? I did something nasty :-/ and the nodes are still not available anymore.
17:30 josephillips lol joe
17:30 josephillips but u dont see them offline?
17:31 JoeStack they are all offline.
17:31 mwhahaha JoeStack: there's an option to fuel node
17:32 mwhahaha it's --delete-from-db
17:32 mwhahaha do a "fuel node --help"
17:34 josephillips someone here use public network with vlan tagging?
17:36 mwhahaha josephillips: what is the exact error message?
17:36 josephillips well
17:36 josephillips i dont have any error messages
17:36 josephillips i have the public network with vlan tagging
17:37 josephillips the vms cant get access to internet when they are using floating ip
17:37 Verilium Hmm...  Silly question, is there something/somewhere in Fuel, that checks if a compute node has VT options enabled?
17:37 Verilium Although, I guess the health check would show the fact it can't create an instance.
17:38 mwhahaha Verilium: don't think so
17:38 JoeStack <mwhahaha> Now I have them in state removing, but still there. And the hint "User should still delete node from cobbler".
17:39 josephillips so mwhahaha its weird cuz the vlan its active
17:39 josephillips i can reach horizon
17:40 mwhahaha JoeStack: yea you'll need to remove them using the cobbler command as well. I don't remember the exact syntax but i think i t's like cobbler system remove <node name> or something
17:40 mwhahaha josephillips: And you created the environment using vlan tagging for your network setup?
17:40 josephillips yes
17:40 josephillips also the horizon can be acceses though a vlan
17:40 xarses joined #fuel
17:40 Verilium mwhahaha:  Just got caught completely forgetting to enable those.
17:41 Verilium Was wondering why things weren't working...  I'm a 7.0 build, but still.
17:41 josephillips but not the vms
17:42 mwhahaha josephillips: you sure your compute's have access to the public vlan and you setup the network interfaces correctly?
17:42 josephillips yeah . the compute node its a trunk
17:42 josephillips port
17:42 josephillips run on a trunk port
17:43 josephillips and can access though pxe vlan , managment vlan
17:43 josephillips everything its working fine there
17:43 josephillips just to make sure i will check the configuration again of the compute node port
17:44 mwhahaha josephillips: you might need to do some ovs trouble shooting to make sure everything is getting properly wired up. Here's a good post on that http://www.yet.org/2014/09/openvswitch-troubleshooting/
17:44 josephillips ok
17:44 josephillips but one question
17:44 josephillips on openstack
17:44 josephillips if i check the network configuration
17:45 josephillips the external network its not checked for vlan tagging
17:45 josephillips that is normal?
17:46 josephillips External Network
17:46 josephillips Yes
17:46 josephillips Provider Network
17:46 josephillips Network Type: local
17:46 josephillips Physical Network: -
17:46 josephillips Segmentation ID: -
17:46 josephillips this how look the network detail on openstack
17:46 mwhahaha I think so
17:48 josephillips and i cant create another vlan network inside of openstack
17:48 josephillips i get error cant create network NAME
17:49 mwhahaha what are you running to create a network? or are you doing it via horizon?
17:49 josephillips via horizon
17:49 josephillips when i do from cli
17:49 josephillips i get a error i shoud use python-neutron
17:49 josephillips for that
17:50 mwhahaha yea you use the neutron client to do that i believe
17:51 josephillips im doing a test
17:52 josephillips im set my ports as native vlan of the public network
17:52 josephillips to see if works
17:52 josephillips or not
17:55 mwhahaha so i get the same error as you do via horizon
17:56 josephillips yes
17:56 mwhahaha i'm sure it's erroring on some log
17:56 josephillips i check neutron
17:56 josephillips log
17:56 josephillips on controller
17:56 josephillips and compute

17:58 mwhahaha but doing it via the cli worked just fine

17:59 josephillips checking
18:00 josephillips let me see
18:01 xarses joined #fuel
18:03 JoeStack <mwhahaha> cobbler command found "cobbler system remove --name node-XX", but the nodes are still in state "removing" in the fuel cli?!
18:04 mwhahaha might need to manually remove that task

19:40 josephillips another thing
19:40 josephillips how i can know
19:40 josephillips if kvm its working on my openstack enviroment
19:40 josephillips when i saw hypervisors inside of openstack says qemu
19:40 josephillips but i select KVM on fuel
19:40 josephillips to deployment
19:40 josephillips i understand kvm its a hardware acelerator that run over qemu

19:43 mwhahaha use neutron network-create
19:44 josephillips i should run this

20:35 josephillips one question
20:36 josephillips Mirantis Openstack its very stable on version 7?
20:37 mwhahaha 7 comes out later this week. It has some improvements over 6.1. Primarily Kilo instead of Juno and only Ubuntu environments are supported
20:37 mwhahaha Not sure it's going to change the problem you're having right now
20:38 josephillips so no more centos
20:38 josephillips ?
20:40 mwhahaha the fuel-master is still centos and so is the bootstrap image. but you can only deploy ubuntu based openstack environments
20:41 mwhahaha this i believe was due to the kilo python 2.7 requirements or something to that effect
20:44 Sesso joined #fuel
20:46 josephillips i will test

20:46 josephillips cuz i need to test netapp too

21:41 angdraug mwhahaha: yes, kilo dropping support for python 2.6 has made it impossible to deploy on centos6, and we couldn't upgrade centos7 in time for 7.0 (still not sure how much we're going to do about it in 8.0)

23:22 h6w Anyone around?
23:24 h6w I have deployed a HA env on 6.1.   However it's amazingly slow to respond.  I found a bunch of "DBConnection" errors with the message "Unknown command".  Tried rebooting it all and mysql appears to be running on the nodes, so I'm at a loss as to what it means.
23:53 h6w Connectivity appears to be good.  I can ping management IPs from each of the nodes and nmap shows 5 ports open on all controllers.
23:59 josephillips lol
23:59 josephillips i dont understand why the setup stuck on 100%
23:59 josephillips its working
23:59 josephillips but stuck in 100% on openstack installation
