15:28 designated While trying to boot Fuel from a USB memory stick, it's giving me a message "Can't find kickstart file". Any recommendations on what software (windows) to use to burn the .iso to a thumb drive and avoid these issues?
15:44 designated I've always downloaded the .img file previously to build a bootable USB memory stick, but this no longer seems to be an option.  Has anyone successfully created a bootable thumb drive using the fuel .iso?
15:46 gerst use some usbstick creator that supports centos images
15:47 designated gerst any suggesstions based on others success?
15:47 gerst haven't tested this on that image, but it worked for some other distros earlier

17:21 Zer0BYte__ someone there
17:21 Zer0BYte__ ?
17:22 mwhahaha Zer0BYte__: ?
17:22 Zer0BYte__ hey mwhahaha
17:22 Zer0BYte__ i already solve the issue
17:22 Zer0BYte__ with the network
17:22 Zer0BYte__ always the setup was right
17:23 Zer0BYte__ if the external interface have a vlan tag
17:23 Zer0BYte__ the vms should tag tne traffic
17:23 Zer0BYte__ but now i have another problem
17:23 Zer0BYte__ with a netapp cloning feature
17:23 Zer0BYte__ i saw its solved on a cinder version
17:23 Zer0BYte__ but how i can now if this version of cinder its available on fuel 7.0
17:24 mwhahaha are you using the cinder netapp plugin for fuel?
17:24 mwhahaha https://github.com/stackforge/fuel-plugin-cinder-netapp
17:24 mwhahaha fuel 7.0 ships with kilo
17:24 Zer0BYte__ yeah
17:24 Zer0BYte__ but cinder have a issue on kilo
17:24 Zer0BYte__ was solved on septeber 15
17:25 mwhahaha since that would be liberty code it's probably not in kilo unless it was backported
17:26 Zer0BYte__ its any way to install
17:26 Zer0BYte__ ?
17:26 mwhahaha if you knew what patch fixed it, you could check the cinder code that gets installed with 7.0 to see if its there
17:27 mwhahaha alternatively open a support case
17:27 Zer0BYte__ https://bugs.launchpad.net/cinder/+bug/1490845
17:27 mwhahaha or a bug if you're using the community version
17:28 mwhahaha that change is not part of the kilo packages we ship with  7.0
17:28 Zer0BYte__ so its on today release ?
17:29 Zer0BYte__ ii  cinder-common                       1:2015.1.1-1~u14.04+mos3052            all          Cinder storage service - common files
17:29 Zer0BYte__ ii  cinder-volume                       1:2015.1.1-1~u14.04+mos3052
17:29 Zer0BYte__ that are the vrsion i have installed right now
17:30 mwhahaha no it is not
17:30 mwhahaha that change was for liberty
17:30 mwhahaha so it'll be a part of 8.0
17:30 Zer0BYte__ ;(
17:31 mwhahaha alternatively if you are a customer, you can open a support case and maybe it can be back ported as part of a 7.0 update
17:33 Zer0BYte__ oh was
17:33 Zer0BYte__ backported
17:35 Zer0BYte__ time to test :)

17:52 Zer0BYte__ hey mwhahaha are you there?
17:52 mwhahaha ?
17:52 Zer0BYte__ one question
17:52 Zer0BYte__ if i want to do persistent change
17:52 Zer0BYte__ for example i change
17:52 Zer0BYte__ something in cinder.conf
17:52 Zer0BYte__ how i can do for fuel deploy the change to the new nodes
17:52 Zer0BYte__ ?
17:53 mwhahaha the best way -> write a plugin. The hack way, if you know where you can manually edit the puppet files on the master and those get pushed out to the nodes that get deployed to. The issue with this way is that your change may be overwritten by later fuel updates or upgrades
17:55 mwhahaha https://github.com/stackforge/fuel-plugins
17:58 Zer0BYte__ mhmm dont look complicated
18:00 mwhahaha it's not
18:01 mwhahaha you can do a simple shell script or more complex puppet stuff too
18:01 Zer0BYte__ today its a release date lol
