07:06 pal_bth A general question; Once a openstack environmen has been deployed from Fuel, how much does that environment depend on the Fuel server? Ie. if the fuel server dies (hw fail), will the OpenStack Environment continue to operate, or will it also die...
07:07 samuelBartel_ hi pal_bth
07:07 samuelBartel_ it will continue to operate
07:08 samuelBartel_ after env deployment fuel doesn't interact directly with the openstack services
07:08 pal_bth Thanks, that feels good.. Do you know if this behavior also apply to previous versions of fuel?
07:08 cartik fpb --build fuel-plugin-vmware-dvs
07:08 cartik Unexpected error
07:08 cartik Shell command executed with "1" exit code: rpmbuild -vv --nodeps --define "_topdir /root/fuel-plugin-vmware-dvs/.build/rpm" -bb /root/fuel-plugin-vmware-dvs/.build/rpm/plugin_rpm.spec
07:09 samuelBartel_ it is just collecting the log from the different nodes (for snapshot mainly)
07:09 pal_bth SamuelBartel; Ok, we noticed that the OS controller complained about nailgun, and no logs were showing up (redirected to the fuel).
07:09 samuelBartel_ pal_bth, yes this behaviour also applyed to fuel 6.1 6.0 5.1,  5.0 and so on
07:11 vsedelnik joined #fuel
07:11 samuelBartel_ pal_bth, what kind of complained? the log on the fuel master node should be in the /var/log/remote directory
07:12 vsedelnik joined #fuel
07:15 pal_bth samuelBartel_; fuel is dead...so cant access log on it. AFAIR it was on the OS controller and the compute nodes.. However checked just now, and nothing matched my memory.,. no nailgun error any more.. strange..
07:16 e0ne joined #fuel
07:17 samuelBartel_ as far as I know there is no connectivity check from nodes to fuel master node only from fuel master node to deployed nodes

14:22 RageLtMan adanin: i've not been able to get another environment to behave this way. Running theory on this is that async write behavior on the underlying storage was likely to blame, by letting the controller VM domain get flushed prior to committing all of its outstanding writes, or those writes being re-dirtied prior to commit (ZFS underpinnings)

15:57 RageLtMan still getting  swift-proxy-server [-] Received error, exiting middleware with error: 401 __call__ /usr/lib/python2.7/dist-packages/keystonemiddleware/s3_token.py even with keystone.conf updated for pipeline:public_api  to read as pipeline=stats_monitoring url_normalize token_auth admin_token_auth xml_body json_body debug ec2_extension s3_extension user_crud_extension public_service
15:58 RageLtMan I somehow cant imagine this is a release-level issue, would have probably been caught in testing, but confused as hell on this end as it happens on every install, and only appears to affect ISO's >500MB
16:06 RageLtMan moreover, swift -A https://master.domain.tld:5000/v1.0 -U admin -K 'adminspasswd' stat -v just hangs
16:07 RageLtMan definitely having a "isn't this supposed to work out of the box?" moment
16:12 RageLtMan "swift --os-auth-url http://master.domain.tld:5000/v2.0 --os-username admin --os-password 'adminpass' --os-project-name admin --os-storage-url https://master.domain.tld:8080/v1/AUTH_5c0bb3f8a6544ee3b2f993eaf247f468 stat -v" works...
16:13 RageLtMan seems odd that auth is on http, but i'll live with that for now, however this confounds my search for the problem even more.
16:14 mwhahaha so what is the problem you're trying to solve?
16:14 mwhahaha uploading of something large to swift fails?
16:18 ppradhan I am unable to create a ceph volume. where do I look? ceph.log on controller nodeS?
16:33 RageLtMan mwahaha, yes
16:33 RageLtMan seems a duplicate of https://bugs.launchpad.net/fuel/+bug/1348701
16:34 RageLtMan i just tried to disable keystone auth in proxy-server.conf and no dice there either
16:37 mwhahaha glance or swift
16:37 RageLtMan im not even sure
16:37 RageLtMan i'm trying to upload an image through horizon
16:37 RageLtMan i seem to be getting errors from swift proxy into glance
16:37 mwhahaha try the cli
16:38 RageLtMan still not completely comfortable with the rigamarole of proxy services here (i came from cloudstack)
16:38 RageLtMan whats the proper way to load an iso from a remote HTTP endpoint in CLI?
16:39 mwhahaha use wget to pull it down first would be my assumption
16:39 mwhahaha you might be running into timeing issues due to file size
16:39 mwhahaha where it goes so slow your token expires or something
16:39 RageLtMan How do i increase timeouts? havent found that config option yet (timeout does seem short @ 10s)
16:39 RageLtMan trying the wget/CLI option now (reading up on how i do this)
16:40 mwhahaha no would be a token timeout
16:40 mwhahaha which i think is an hour or something
16:43 vsedelnik joined #fuel
16:50 kozhukalov_ joined #fuel
16:51 RageLtMan Hmm, where's this token timeout setting?
16:51 mwhahaha it's in keystone conf
16:52 mwhahaha expiration = 3600 under [token]
17:01 RageLtMan expiration IS at 3600, caching is off
17:01 RageLtMan hmm
17:03 RageLtMan I kinda figured that by GA fuel 7 would have all services working and tested, seems a bit of a bug if large images can't be uploaded. Also confused as to why the small images are not going to glance, it seems they're downloaded into the master's OS itself in /srv/node/#/objects
