07:39 magicboiz trying MOS7.0/Kilo, if find br-ex created as linux bridge, instead of OVS bridge. Is this right? How could I define something like "bridge_mappins = physnet1:br-ex" instead?

08:24 holser RegeLtMan as far as I know there are some issues with ceph backend. Guys are working to fix them. If you don’t use ceph image upload should be fine. Also, it was found that horizon times out on very very large images (10G>)

09:49 zerda hello. In reference arhitecture for MOS 6.1 I see a performance comparison of VM-to-VM performance with GRE isolation and before and after speeds 3.5 and 9.7 gbps respectively. I wonder if 9K MTU was used or not
09:50 Sesso should be able to look at your interface and see the MTU

11:04 Guest84 Hi I try update my fuel 6.1 to 7.0 using manual. And I should install octane using command "yum install -y fuel-octane" but I receive message that this package not available in repo "No package fuel-octane available". Where I can find fuel-octane package? or I should use repo in git?

13:52 ericjwolf Good morning.
13:53 ericjwolf I am seeing a new issue with my fuel mos6.1.  After realizing my cobbler was messed up, I decided to re-install fuel.  no porblems.  I did a yum update then did a "dockerctl destroy all; bootstrap_admin_node.sh"
13:54 ericjwolf I get a ERROR:  http://paste.openstack.org/show/477006/
13:54 ericjwolf Error: fuel rel --sync-deployment-tasks --dir /etc/puppet/ returned 1 instead of one of [0] Error: /Stage[main]/Main/Exec[sync_deployment_tasks]/returns: change from notrun to 0 failed: fuel rel --sync-deployment-tasks --dir /etc/puppet/ returned 1 instead of one of [0]
13:54 ericjwolf I checked the conf file and it is all correct.
13:55 ericjwolf looks like something is not starting properly
13:55 dsutyagin ericjwolf: If you have destroyed all containers you will need to recreate them from backup. If you have not created a backup you will need to reinstall Fuel from scratch.

13:59 Wida joined #fuel
14:01 ppradhan joined #fuel
14:02 dsutyagin ericjwolf: correction - if you have not removed docker filesystems, then please start the containers back - in your case puppet failed because nailgun was not running. Start postrgres, keystone, rabbitmq and nailgun, I would actually recommend starting everything except the broken cobbler container.
14:03 ericjwolf Did I miss reading something in one of the docs?
14:06 Wida Hi! could you help me? I try update mirantis openstack from 6.1 to 7.0. I use https://docs.mirantis.com/openstack/fuel/fuel-7.0/operations.html#upgrade-environment-experimental but have problems with fuel-octane package
14:06 cloudman-x joined #fuel
14:08 mwhahaha Wida: I think those directions assumes you've already updated your fuel-master to 7.0
14:09 mwhahaha that's the document to migrate your environment from 6.1 to 7.0 (i believe)
14:09 mwhahaha I think you want, https://docs.mirantis.com/openstack/fuel/fuel-7.0/user-guide.html#upgrade-patch-top-ug
14:09 dsutyagin ericjwolf: this guide may help you understand what needs to be done in case you have (un)intentionally corrupted a container - https://docs.mirantis.com/openstack/fuel/fuel-6.1/operations.html#docker-disk-full-top-tshoot
14:11 dsutyagin ericjwolf: in case of Cobbler if you do not have a backup you may need to re-install Fuel from scratch or manually fill up Cobbler's database from inside Cobbler CLI (there is no documentation for this process unfortunately)
14:15 ericjwolf If all this happens then why does the doc tell you to do a destroy all after doing a yum update?
14:15 mwhahaha because you need to rebuild the containers with the new code
14:16 mwhahaha we test the upgrade process so I don't think this always happens
14:16 mwhahaha the sync-deployment-tasks requires nailgun to be up and functioning, is it?
14:21 stamak joined #fuel
14:22 dsutyagin ericjwolf: which documentation are you referring to regarding "dockerctl destroy all; bootstrap_admin_node.sh"?
14:22 Wida mwhahaha: I successful update fuel with this document. After that I start update my environment using https://docs.mirantis.com/openstack/fuel/fuel-7.0/operations.html#upgrade-environment-experimental
14:23 stamak joined #fuel
14:24 mwhahaha Wida: what does your fuel yum configuration for the mos repos look like?
14:24 Wida and at first I didn't find package fuel-octane in repositories. I resolved this issue using git repo
14:24 mwhahaha fuel-octane is available from http://mirror.fuel-infra.org/mos-repos/centos/mos7.0-centos6-fuel/os/x86_64/Packages/fuel-octane-1-1.mos1010.noarch.rpm which should be in  your yum config
14:25 sbog_ joined #fuel
14:28 Wida mwhahaha: I don't have this repositories. I have only "updates" and "security"
14:32 mwhahaha can you provide a 'cat /etc/yum.repos.d/*' via paste.openstack.org?
14:36 dsutyagin ericjwolf: looks like you are referring to the message which pops up in Fuel UI after installation of MOS 6.1. Unfortunately it gives incorrect information. Here is the bug about this issue - https://bugs.launchpad.net/fuel/+bug/1495658. IF you have re-installed Fuel and want to update it you either need to follow Upgrade approach to 7.0 or apply maintenance updates. Specific documentation for both operations is available here - https://docs.mirantis.c
14:36 dsutyagin om/openstack/fuel/fuel-6.1/. You might as well just install MOS 7.0 if you are okay with re-installing and losing all your data, but remember that it does not support deploying CentOS - if you need this you will have to stay with MOS 6.1.

14:41 gerst think the centos support will come as an update to 7.0?
14:42 Wida mwhahaha: http://paste.openstack.org/show/ze0BhU2lgbUhCtvU9KBO/
14:42 mwhahaha gerst: no
14:43 mwhahaha Wida: why do you have the main centos repos listed?
14:43 xarses joined #fuel
14:43 gerst well, I'm perfectly happy with ubuntu, but really bad for updating
14:43 ericjwolf Yes, I went back to the docs and found that the doc was different from the log message.
14:44 ericjwolf My system appears to be back up.
14:44 mwhahaha Wida: you should remove the centos mirrors as they may cause other issues. You should use http://mirror.fuel-infra.org/mos-repos/centos/mos7.0-centos6-fuel/os/ for your centos OS mirror for 7.0
14:44 Wida mwhahaha: I install fuel 6.1, than install Openstack, than update fuel to 7.0 and now I have this
14:45 Wida I did all from mirantis docs
14:45 mwhahaha strange, i'll have to file a bug for this because i don't think it's right.
14:46 mwhahaha oh well, here's your issue already in bug form https://bugs.launchpad.net/fuel/+bug/1504139
14:48 Wida mwhahaha: thx
14:49 mwhahaha anyway if you grab that rpm from that link and rpm install that it should work for you

15:33 karume hi there, question: I've defined some custom nodes on 'node_roles.yaml', which I later configure from the fuel web UI. Then when I launch the deploy, an error message is triggered: 'The node nsdb is not in the digraph.'
15:33 karume these custom nodes have associated tasks on 'deployment_tasks.yaml'
15:33 karume any clue? maybe some missing step after defining the nodes and before the deploy is executed?
15:33 karume (this is Fuel 7.0)
15:33 xarses joined #fuel
15:35 mwhahaha karume: can you provide your deployment_tasks.yaml and node_roles.yaml so we can see what you have?
15:35 claflico joined #fuel
15:39 karume mwhahaha: 'node_roles.yaml' --> http://paste.openstack.org/show/tGISDPlD4IBOjufNlML5/
15:39 karume mwhahaha: 'deployment_tasks.yaml' --> http://paste.openstack.org/show/1QysspeBpuSdSmouxoOM/
15:42 mwhahaha you're missing the groups on those deployment tasks
15:42 mwhahaha or rather the group
15:42 mwhahaha sec
15:43 mwhahaha as an example, https://github.com/openstack/fuel-plugin-detach-rabbitmq/blob/master/deployment_tasks.yaml#L13-L23
15:45 karume so something like this would be fine? http://paste.openstack.org/show/PS8bFVxfZpu1H4WO6DMZ/
15:46 karume I'm not sure about defining groups with associated tasks, and then define the tasks associated to roles. Is it the correct way?
15:46 karume wouldn't it be redundant?
15:46 karume I think I tried it and it was giving dependency cycles
15:47 mwhahaha I'm not sure the history on the groups vs role stuff
15:47 mwhahaha i think it has to do with how they build out the deployment graphs
15:47 mwhahaha if  you're getting dependency cycles then you've got a loop defined somewehre
15:48 karume it's a bit confusing to me, I'm going to try to define only these custom nodes as groups
15:48 karume thanks for the help mwhahaha
15:48 mwhahaha you can try the folks over in #fuel-dev they might be able to give you more history on that stuff
15:49 karume already did that! but it seems this channel is more crowded :P
15:49 mwhahaha yea but the guys who wrote that stuff are in the other one ;)
