08:28 sc-rm When are the plugins going to be released for 7.0? anybody know
08:29 sc-rm as of https://www.mirantis.com/products/openstack-drivers-and-plugins/fuel-plugins/ I don’t see them for other than 6.1
08:39 Damjanek sc-rm: Some are already certified. Those are: Zabbix, snmp trapd for zabbix and NetApp.
08:41 sc-rm Damjanek: I see, but the ones I’m really interested in to get started using is: ElasticSearch/Kibana, LMA Collector and InfluxDB/Grafana
08:44 sc-rm Damjanek: But it would be nice with some estimate, like is it going to be this og next month, I know it’s difficult to say, but how close are we to be able to use them
08:45 Damjanek sc-rm: Ping me in 2-3h, I'll try to give you some info about that.

08:58 RageLtMan Looks like Ubuntu updates broke fuel7 over the last few days
08:59 RageLtMan controller node now fails on /usr/bin/apt-get -q -y -o DPkg::Options::=--force-confold install keystone , saying "keystone : Depends: python-keystone (= 1:2015.1.0-1~u14.04+mos4434) but it is not going to be installed" on manual check
08:59 RageLtMan trying to install python-keystone manually on the half-deployed controller results in  python-keystone : Depends: python-oslo.concurrency (>= 1.8.0) but 1.7.0-1~u14.04+mos4 is to be installed
08:59 RageLtMan is liberty leaking back into trusty repos?
09:00 RageLtMan aaaanyway, kinda puts a dampner on deployment. Any thoughts on what i need to kill?

09:10 sc-rm I see that the healt tests for “Check network connectivity from instance via floating IP” still is not relasing the floating IP addresses back into the pool, so If one is going to run the test from time to time, you will end up with no floating IP addresses

09:55 sc-rm I think I have already back in 2014 asked the question, why is it the names in fuel-web is different for the nodes than if you do a arp -a on the fuel master. It would be really really nice and way more easy to manage if there was an option to make those two namings to be in sync. So in the fuel-web and fuel-cli the names for at given node is actually what you could do a ssh to. With 50 plus nodes, it’s really a time consuming issue to have to re
09:55 sc-rm the nodes by hand on web, so you know which nodes you have to ssh into to check manual information.
09:57 vsedelnik joined #fuel
09:57 Verilium Seems to me the only way they could end up doing that would be to add the nodes to /etc/hosts, or something along those lines.
09:58 Verilium Right now, I keep doing a 'fuel nodes' to figure out which IP a node has to ssh into it.
09:58 sc-rm Verilium: I don’t want custom names, I just want fuel-web to reflect what arp -a gives
09:59 Verilium sc-rm:  Btw, you can build the plugins yourself if you want to try and get a few working.
09:59 sc-rm Verilium: If you do arp -a on fuel master, you should be able to just do ssh node-1 or what number arp -a gives
09:59 Verilium sc-rm:  And the 2 plugins you mentionned work in 7.0.  At least that's what I've got running after building them.  Seems to be working at this point.
09:59 sc-rm Verilium: I tried to build them by hand, but they did not show up in the fuel-web
10:00 Verilium err, sorry, 3 plugins even.
10:00 sc-rm Verilium: I did a git clone for those 3 projects, and installed them, but they do not appear in the plugins view.
10:01 sc-rm Verilium: I think I’m going to do a fresh install of the master node, it’s just at testing befor going in production with 7.0
10:01 Verilium Yeah, I see what you'd like to have, just being able to ssh to nodes using their hostnames.  Can't say I'd mind having that also.
10:02 Verilium Did you create a new deployment after installing the plugins?
10:02 sc-rm Verilium: I can already do an ssh into the node, by just doing “ssh node-1” for instance, this works by default. What I need is that in fuel-web I should see node-1 instead of “Untitled (e5:28)”
10:02 Verilium If you do a 'fuel plugins', do you have them?  And 0.8.0?
10:02 Verilium On my end:
10:02 Verilium 2  | influxdb_grafana            | 0.8.0   | 3.0.0
10:02 Verilium 3  | lma_infrastructure_alerting | 0.8.0   | 3.0.0
10:03 Verilium 4  | elasticsearch_kibana        | 0.8.0   | 3.0.0
10:03 Verilium My bad, bad paste, and lma_collector at id 1, 0.8.0/2.0.0.
10:04 hezhiqiang joined #fuel
10:04 Verilium Hmm, I didn't even know I could ssh to, say, node-1 by hostname.  Go figure. :P
10:05 sc-rm Verilium: I have those as you listed
10:06 Verilium In that case, upon creating a new deploy, in settings, you should have a few new tabs for LMA and the others.
10:06 sc-rm Verilium: But I also have the old 0.7.0 versions, how do I get rid of those?
10:07 Verilium Try:  fuel plugins --remove lma_collector==0.7.0
10:08 sc-rm Verilium: Now they are there :-) Thanks
10:10 sc-rm Verilium: I have time and programming skills to look at fixing the naming issue, but I have no clue of where in the entire fuel discovery of nodes/deployment of an environment the naming of nodes are happening.
10:14 Damjanek sc-rm: LMA plugins should be available mid-November.
10:14 sc-rm Verilium: Now on the settings page, I see you have to put the IP for Elasticsearch address and InfluxDB address, how do one get those addresses?
10:16 pasquier-s sc-rm, you've chosen the "remote server" option? otherwise the IP address fields should be disabled
10:16 pasquier-s sc-rm, see http://fuel-plugin-lma-collector.readthedocs.org/en/latest/user/guide.html
10:17 sc-rm pasquier-s: My bad, RTFM :-P
10:17 sc-rm pasquier-s: selected the local node instead now

10:52 Verilium Speaking of LMA...  If I dedicate a node to all those elements, how should I be able to reach the web interface of that node and get to the various web UIs?
10:53 Verilium The only method I've figured up to now is to manually assign an external IP to the node in question on a secondary (public) interface.
10:54 Verilium ...which also lead me to the fact that if this node gets rebooted, lma_collector/hekad has to be restarted on all the other nodes for things to get working again.

13:23 mohmultihouse mwhahaha: its failling at this point:  (/Stage[main]/Osnailyfacter::Mysql_access/File[default-mysql-access-link]) Dependency Haproxy_backend_status[mysql] has failures: true
13:24 mwhahaha so that points to either the mysql not being up or haproxy not being happy
13:24 mwhahaha on the controllers you can run haproxy-status.sh to see the status of the backends

13:37 mwhahaha are you trying to replace controller2 or something?
13:37 mwhahaha also do you have 3 controllers or just two?
13:38 mohmultihouse two controllers, its a new poc cloud
13:39 mwhahaha you need an odd number
13:39 mohmultihouse wtf
13:39 mwhahaha clusters need odd numbers
13:39 mohmultihouse haha okay, is there a reason for that?
13:39 mwhahaha otherwise quorum cannot be created
13:39 mwhahaha do either do 1 or 3
13:40 mohmultihouse okay, thanks i will try taht.
13:40 mohmultihouse do you got some papers i can read about why ?
13:41 mwhahaha https://docs.mirantis.com/openstack/fuel/fuel-7.0/operations.html#add-a-controller-node
13:42 mwhahaha you can read section 5.3.1 of http://clusterlabs.org/doc/en-US/Pacemaker/1.1-plugin/html/Clusters_from_Scratch/ch05s03.html
13:43 mwhahaha there are ways to get clustering with just 2 nodes but we dont' support it

15:48 Verilium I've got 10GbE NICs on a few nodes, Intel X710, but the bootstrap image doesn't seem to be seeing them.  They're in lspci output, but seems the devices don't get loaded.  Anyone with an idea on how I could get fuel to see them?

16:12 Verilium Concerning Intel X710 10GbE NIC support.  I see this bug filed (https://bugs.launchpad.net/fuel/+bug/1445562) and mention that the X710 is supported in 7.0.  But, when deploying nodes, Fuel doesn't seem to be seeing the cards on the nodes.  Shoudn't the CentOS bootstrap image have the drivers to load the card also, so the interfaces are available for configuration in Fuel?
16:27 mwhahaha you could try the ubuntu bootstrap image
16:27 mwhahaha that might fix it, in looking at that bug it seems to just be documented. I didn't see any fix to the bootstrap but i'm not sure
16:31 Verilium There's a ubuntu bootstrap image?
16:32 Verilium Hrm, didn't notice, my bad.
16:32 Verilium I guess I always just let it boot by itself most of the time, or something. :P
16:38 Verilium Well, I remember having a node already installed and loaded, with the cards inside, and I remember ubuntu seeing them and the ports being eth4/5 and such.
16:39 mwhahaha it's one of those not default things, experimental
16:40 Verilium Ah, was looking for how to even set the bootstrap to ubuntu.
